Just wondering if anyone here has a good beat on a tableture for this song...I have found a couple but I think they are the tabs for the "Echos" version of Marroned...which is a chopped version of the actual one from Division Bell...

It would be nice to have the complete version...

God I love their stuff...

Jason,
I think I might. I can't be sure as I am at work right now, but I'll be home in about an hour from now and I'll post back.

Honeslty thats about all I should try...I don't know how to play but I have this knack in my head that if I learn something difficult that I will break myself into finger methods and such....

Jason, Marooned would defo be a good practice piece. I think that is one of my faves off Division Bell. But then again the whole disc is great. Did you get to see them touring during the Division Bell. It was one hell of a show.

No, Noize, I am a huge PF fan tho!!...I seriously sit back and listen to that song and drift off...

Not to sound cheesy or anything but that how it feels. That disc is outstanding...My mom would play it full blast, and I just hated it. But it eventually grew on me to significant sentimental value...

I was 14 when the tour was going on, so I missed it...Sadly. Therefore I envy you for being able to see it. I am hoping by some miraculous occurance that they come out with another disc...If there was ever a recording project I had to choose to go back in time and sit in on, it would be either Dark Side of the Moon....Or Division Bell...

My folks are classic rock types, can't tell you about the countless mornings I woke up to KQ. I can listen to that station and name 95% of the songs...So I was raised on the right stuff...

I have never seen PF live, but they are still one of my all time favs. If anyone wants a good laugh though, go check out some of Sid Barrett's solo stuff that he made after he got out of the...ummmmm..."retreat". Pretty weird stuff...I love the old stuff...and the new stuff, hell, if it's PF, it's awesome.

"Corporal Clegg...had a wooden leg.
He lost in the war, in 1944"

"I've got a bike you can ride it if you like,
it's got a basket, a bell that rings and things to make it look good.
I'd give it to you if I could but a borrowed it."

Now, who can't love lyrics that non-sensical...

Good ole Syd...definately unique...

My favorite time with some PF is sitting on the dock at the lake, at night, beer in hand...

Perfect time for that cut named Marooned...

You have one more Floyd fan here. This thread just made me fire up a "shine on you crazy diamond" marathon. lol Have any of you ever watched the DVD that came out in '03 about the recording of Dark Side? It was mostly interviews with the band and Alan Parsons plus a few performances. Its well worth a look if your in to Pink Floyd. I bought it at wal-mart but the web site is www.eagle-rock.com

I can honestly say, there isnt one PF tune I dislike. Not even the stuff on UmaGuma. I have been lucky enough to see them 4 times in my lifetime. And yes, I would love to see the boys put out at least one more. I can put on any PF album and close my eyes and drift off. Except of course, The Wall. Could never shut my eyes listening to that one. My one wish would be to see Roger and David pair up again for one more time. I think the outcome would be some of the most creative music heard in ages.

Shine on, that is definately a stellar track as well. The whole album is awsome. And yes, my son borrowed it and never brought it back. I had only watched it once when it was brand new. Now you remind me I must go get a copy of it new.

Yeah its stiring the proverbial pot when it comes to Pink Floyd...I even have the London Philahormonic Symphony CD that basically does PF covers...some of you have maybe even seen it...Nothing better than the symphonic version on Great Gig...That CD turned me on to symphonic genres. It actually made the real verion of Great Gig even better for me to listen to...

"Shine on you" is top notch...

As far as productions goes...My mom has Pulse and that CD is unbelievable...well worth the $$$ if you ask me...

Noize I have to make admission similar to your son. Over time I walked off with moms Division Bell and Momentary Lapse CDS...a couple of times and they never returned...she finally got new ones and hid them....LOL....

Pulse is a great cd, I enjoyed that one. That one was stolen out of my car along with my stereo. My car was across the street from a police station when that happened! lol

I have never heard the symphonic cd but thats now on my list of new discs to pick up.

Noize I could never shut my eyes and relax to the Wall either. Great album but not to chill to.

I hear that "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" was recorded with Syd Barrett in the room. That would be unnerving.

Never seen PF, but would loved to have seen them with Roger Waters.

Anyone ever see "The Wall" from Berlin? Very v. cool.

Personal thing: The guitar solo from "Another Brick In The Wall" is PERFECT!

LOL! "I've got a bike you can ride it if you like,"

I know a mouse, and he hasn't got a house.
I don't know why I call him Gerald.
He's getting rather old, but he's a good mouse.

Bike was always my favorite song off of Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

"I hear that "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" was recorded with Syd Barrett in the room. That would be unnerving."

I thought it was written about (tribute to) Syd Barrett. Kind of a euology sort of thing. Hmm, could be wrong.

dB has it dead on I think. Wish you were here is definately the finest of the PF stuff. That is one of those disc's that if you play it in the car, I leave it in for days, even weeks before changing to something else. Never gets boring.

Yes, Pusle!! Is anyone elses little LED still blinking???

Another great one that never really got its just deserts at least around here on the radio was Animals. Both my 2 youngest sons love cruising in the car with that one on.

Lets not forget the epitamy of all PF though. Dark Side of the Moon. That album is still in the sales charts, has been since its release. It is the longest running record to remain in the charts since its release. Has anyone here ever done the Wizard of Oz trick with the Dark Side playing and no sound on the video? Its pretty sureal the way everything fits in with the movie. But there are those who still say it was just coinsidance.

OK, now I must go bath myself in a PF aura...

Wish you were here. ahhh thats a great album.

That pulse LED on mine went on forever! I actually had to turn the disc around in my cd shelf because it was driving me nuts at night while I tried to sleep. lol

From the interviews I have read "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" was a kind of tribute to Syd and he walked in and hung out while they were recording on it. Actually I think "Wish you were here" was a nod to Syd too.

Dark Side is an amazing album even to this day. I never did the wizard of oz thing but I have heard that it does line up in a strange way. I'll have to try that one day.

Absolutely "Shine on" is all about Syd, and he was there as they recorded it. Very weird. How do you sing a sog about your best friend going hatstand on you, when he's sitting there listening? Whole album is stellar. "And, by the way, which one's Pink?" Fabulous.

"Dark Side" is still the one album I can rely on to check the integrity of any sound system. Total stereo whores, those boys. My ears know it inside out, so I can tell when a pair of speakers are off somewhere...

"The Wall" in Berlin was post-PF. It featured all sorts of stars. Dead good.

Boing,
time for bed...

I enjoy PF's entire Cataloge even the early stuff! but my fav. PF album is definately ANIMALS!! i grew up with the 8 track of animals which has pigs on the wing pt1 and pt2 combined into one song with a snowy white guitar solo in between. i was really bumbed when i bought the CD and found out that there was a part 1 and part 2 and no snowy white guitar solo!

xtc, I had no idea that existed. I love Animals too but I've only ever heard it with pigs on the wing 1 and 2 bookending the other 3 tunes.

Damn, I need to hear that missing part now.

I appreciate the info but I'm afraid this is going to drive me nuts until I find a copy of that.

If you haven't seen Roger Waters - In the Flesh DVD, I highly recommend it. He plays a lot of the classics and the sound and video quality is incredible.

If you want it you'll have to either find the 8 track, or find the vinyl. Its the only way you will get the missing part.

I've been searching ebay for it, no 8-tracks (not that I could play it anyway).

Quite a few copies on vinyl are available but the only sellers that have listed the tracks all appear to have the same as I do.

I'm going to keep looking though, if anything turns up I'll keep you floyd fans updated.
