I sincerely wish everybody at HRC a happy, healthy, prosperous and uncomplicated 2008.

For me personally 2007 was a very trying year on personal and professional levels, but I have high hopes for this next year, and I am hoping you all do as well.

Have fun celebrating, but be smart and be safe...one CAN be smart and safe and still have fun ya know, it IS possible, and I hope to see everybody back here safe and sound (and hung over) tomorrow.

Happy NY to you too Deebs!

No hang over for me, though I might get a bit bloated from eating too much - I think we're having a mega take-away new year this year. Woohoo!

The very same to all you fellers and gals.

2007? Where was it? I must be getting advanced in years.

Yesterday was our youngest's 21st birthday (Tambra's from a previous marriage). I started thinking, and I could almost pinpoint exactly what I was doing on the day he was born. Seems like a couple of months ago. Heavy sigh.

I'll be cracking some beers tonight at home. Hanging out with crowds doesn't much appeal to me nowadays.

Well, except for you guys and the old gents in the antique radio forum...

EDIT: Thanks to all in the HRC fantasy football league for allowing me to take the championship. w00t.

Here's to 08!

This year I will dig out of the money pit I dug for myself by building a studio!

Well, that's the plan at least...

Be Safe out there!

Happy New Year everyone.

The wife and I are just going to be hanging out at home (kid free). We will be playing some Wii games and just taking it easy. Maybe watch a movie or two.

I hope everyone has a great '08

Yep, just hanging here as well. Ma in law is over, I already picked her up this afternoon. Bro in law and his wife and 2 kids are coming as is one of my scouting buds. Play some cards and a couple cocktails for me as I gotta drive Ma in law home after the midnight strike. In the mean time I just finished tearing out a small bookcase and shelves from the studio and am starting the build of a couple larger bookcase type things in here. I hope they will stand back up without tearing the ceiling out. Anyway, I'm snapping pix as I go here as coolo wanted to watch as the Pig Pen got clean and tidy. I'm actually surprised I have this much room in here.

Anyway, happy new year from me and the boyz as well. And as dB stated, be safe and enjoy the evening. I expect to see ya all on here tomorrow as safe and hung over as dB stated. Although I will probably be the worst as I'll be swilling a few after midnight and the Ma in Law drop off.

Later lads.

I really do hope that we can all have a safe and successful year, and meet Dec. 31, 2008, on this site and do all this again.

Thanks guys.

Happy New Year to all, I hope the new one brings great comfort and joy =).

Our last year was a real roller coaster:

In January, our family took a driving trip to Orlando Fla, to take in the family attractions to be had in the area.

We bought a new (to us) conversion van for the trip (as well as for the missus) and headed out, making overnight stops in Gatlinburg TN, Savannah GA, and then in Orlando. The trip was a great success, mainly as we had a great vehicle to travel in (lots of room inside, TV for PS/2 and movies, and 3 DS-lites), and we had rented a villa in Orlando, so we had a 'home' base, so to speak. We also had a private pool, and ping pong, which was a great success.

Most of our time was spent in Universal Studios, as their prices were very reasonable, compared to the 'other' park system in the area. We also made stops in Busch Gardens Tampa, and Kennedy Space Center.

Homeward, we stopped in Chattanooga and Memphis for 2 days, to see friends.

Spring worsened my father's illness, and brought subsequent day trips to Flint and Detroit area to see him in different hospitals and homes. His condition continued to worsen, and he passed in May. High blood pressure caused kidney failure, and he also suffered from heart problems, diabetes, and clotted arteries, that they couldn't fix.

During one of our trips downstate to see my father, the missus and I decided to officially tie the knot, becoming married after 16 years and 3 kids together. We've battled a few ravenous demons in our past, and have now started living a smooth(ish) and stable life. Our summer consisted of (a lot of) working on our yard and new house, to make everything wedding-ready, and on Sept 22, 2007, we said our vows in our large 2 acre grass yard, in front of 80ish of our friends and family. We had a lovely afternoon / evening with a reception and gathering in our yard, under a large tent.

After our wedding day was over, the missus and I traveled south to Detroit where we boarded a plane headed for Ft. Lauderdale, where we boarded a Carnival Cruise ship. We headed out and sailed for 7 days, stopping in Key West, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. The trip was a great success, and would advise it to anyone looking for a trouble-free vacation.

Since we've returned, our home life has been quiet, spent between small music projects for me, and trying to catch up with paying for our last year's activities. It has been a vibrant year, an I have no regrets, minus the passing of my father.

< soapbox mode on >

Our events of this year would no doubt never have happened if not for removing the demons of our past. Addictions do nothing but tear away at the good possibilities in our life, and should be crushed as quickly as possible. Today is the best (and easiest) day to start!

< soapbox mode off >

I'm looking forward to a quieter year coming, and hope all of you enjoy a smooth and prosperous year as well.

Thanks for listening.

wow, dude, quite a the year, congrats on one hand and I'm sorry for your loss on the other.

Very roller coaster ride here too. I am excited for 2008, it is already started on a better note, and I have a new found enlightenment and vigor for life in general.

The psycho neighbor thing we are putting behind us, only to let it come up again if somebody else does it...as far as we are concerned it's over. With that in mind and other issues, I have had a couple real personal and emotional epiphanies in the last week and am now looking at everything differently...

Things are going to be good. I can feel it, and if something turns south, well, that's all part of the ride.

Happy New Year to all. 2007 was definitely a step up from 2006 for me, personally. I think a lot of that had to do with me forgiving some people, and letting go of some negativity that I was dwelling on, as well as getting some stuff off of my chest early in the year, which basically let me take on the year with a free-er mind and soul. I'm really looking forward to the new year, and I'm approaching it with vigor. It's my last 9 months before I turn thirty, got to live it up. I'm not sure why, but I'm brimming with confidence lately and I just feel like things are going to be good. Already have some great news for the new year, as my cousin proposed to his girl on new years eve. Right now, I'm focussing on getting two albums out by the end of June; first one should be done by end of March. Lets get this party started, ...right!

And a special thanks to all of you here at HRC for giving me a place to spout off, and to continually learn. Glad to be a part of it. Happy New Years!

Yeah, that is my big step too, I finally realized forgiving isn't necessarily saying it's OK, it just allows you to set it behind you and move forward.

Exactly, forgive but don't forget is the route I took. I also talked with the individual in question and basically told him if he tries some nonsense like he tried again, I was going to beat his ***, but if he stays cool, we can be cool and move forward. A year later, we're on good terms.

Sounds like we are taking a similar path.

My basic tenet right now is something along the lines of, if that neighbor does anything to anyone in my family again, she will regret the day she was born. I am moving forward, leaving it behind, but NEVER forgetting.

That said, given her attitude, I think she already regrets the day she was born...I'm just sayin...

Happy new year to all. Here's to a fabulous 2008.

I've told my boss that 2008 is MY year...

2007 wasn't too bad for us (2006 sucked).

Auld Lang Sine and all that. Everyone gets a clean slate, until they prove that they really are jerks...

Well 2008 is bringing lots of good things to the studio. But at the same time I'm not sure I'm willing to devote that much time to it. Its time for a major decision on my part. An offer has been made that was tabled a few years ago. Now I am seriously thinking it might be time to accept it.

A second offer was made as well, but would require moving westward, very close to our buddy coolo. But the money and stability might not be worth it.

On the best side of all. I am going to be working with a long time friend whom I have not seen in a long time. He is probably one of the best at ripping up a B3 and making it beg for mercy. He arrives in town in about 3 weeks and wants to stop by and play out some idea's here, with the tape rolling. I'm stocked for that.

But hopefully I will get the studio site up and functional after about 7 or 8 years of it just being a glorified ftp site.

Man, that would be crazy if you ended up moving out this way Noize. Sounds like you got some thinking to do, my man. Which ever way you choose, I surely wish you the best!

I wanna hear the B3 sessions too.
