Jun 19, 2006 05:55 am The song is good i agree. I notice some clicks/pops in the mix around 25 + 35 secs, have you used an intention viynl plug in? The beater on the kick seems a little prominent at times and it hasn't got your normal round full sound to it. I can't put my finger on it but something seems to be missing or perhaps its the balance between the vocals and grats. Now I am nowhere near your level of recording / mixing abilities and would be overjoyed to have done that.
But hey what do I know I'm only a drummer

Definately very good recording and mixing. I liked the tune indeed. Though not really in the mood for a softy today it still kept my interest all the way through.
Jun 19, 2006 07:35 pm This definatly has a professional sound to it. The little tom flam panned to the far left in the last few measures of the song kind of stands out too much in opinion (I'm listening on headphones). It just annoys me when I'm listening.
Btw, how did you mic the acoustic guitar? I always ask people when i like their guitar sound.

I miked the guitars in A B, I like the more open stereo sound. One was pointing directly at the body, the other pointing towards the strings on the neck just after the hole.
I did two takes, and then panned them in opposite directions, Take one is panned left and right, take 2 is panned right then left. This way I get the full body sound on both sides, as well as the clarity of the strings.
There is also an e-bow guitar with a funky flangelizer effect on it that makes it go from side to side and do weird things... maybe that is what that static effect you are hearing is? yes, those toms might be abit loud :-)
