I've always ordered from Musicians Friend, they don't always have what I want, but when they do I use them. Just recently I was looking for a Road Ready 4U Rack, they didn't hold it but sweetwater.com did. Sweetwater failed to tell me it was on back order until two days later when they left me a message. When every I tried to call back I was never able to get a hold of anybody. Finaly a week later I was able to cancel it. So they are out of the question for me. Is zZounds good? I saw HRC is using them now just wondering about personnal stories with them?

I can only tell you personal stories from my dealing with the affiliate program and thus far they have been very hospitabile and responsive. That said, I never bought anything from them yet.

zZounds is the new affiliate for HRC. I have heard nothing but good things about them. Their prices are competative and it seems as though they have pretty good stock. I browed through looking at several items I am in the market for and all were in stock. And good prices as well.

i think thats where I bought my Aardvark Q10... or something expensive... they were pretty good and
had a good price.

<RANT>
Guitar Center is starting to piss me off...and GC and MF are the same company... but mostly it's instore clerks being dumb... not as bad as Sam Ash yet though... those guys are ********...

So I'm buying stuff from a specialty store (Sound Ideas www.soundideasonline.com ) ...even though the Edirol FA-66 was $20 more expensive I know they won't drive a forklift through it when it arrives... like GC did to my studio desk... and if they did they would atleast call me to tell me something other than "It's here, come pick it up".

I'll say so. It doesnt appear that many other places have gotten that high of a rating there.

I won't use MF anymore. Abused equipment, poor packaging and credit card hassles...

Well, now you can paste HRC, go to HRC's studio equipment section and you will find the entire zZounds Catalog, and for UKer's there is a Sound Control Catalog as well.

People have been long bitching about MF, then they started messing with me and our agreements so I looked for a while to find a couple decent sponsors...zZounds and Sound Control looked like good options. I have talked with Sound Control much, but I have with zZounds, and they have been very cool.

I don't think I'll purchase from MF in the near future either. They still can't tell me what type of freaking pedal will work for my keyboard. I've ordered three different ones; none of which work as they're supposed to. Now I'm just going to tear apart the one I have and change out the stinking switch so it will work.

I personally like the reviews they have for their products. Very informative stuff. It always seemed to me that Musiciansfriend being one of oldest mail-order companies (even pre-internet) didn't care if they sold to you.

I personally have made a choice to use another vendor for my gear (though it's not zzounds) and they have been great. Plus they usually sell gear on Ebay auctions so you can get some really great deals.

The thing I've found with most mail order places is that the prices are fixed. From place to place they are all the same. What cracks me up even more is that they have the nerve to use words like "savings" and "sale".

Forgive my babbling though. I will have to make sure that If I ever do use Zzounds that I will come here first so that DB gets the benefits. Whatever they may be.

I have a question are zzound and sameday music related ? they seem to have the same selection and there web sites closly resemble each others.

if you look, really most of the big ones look a lot the same, but I will say, zZounds and SameDay do have more in common...perhaps designed by the same design firm...

Good one bangbang, I should be publicly flogged.

Catching Z's, I have never really thought about where it came from.
