There I am on the train coming back home from a job interview!
It’s lovely sunny day and, thus far, things had gone swimmingly.
As I alight from the train it begins to rain down in buckets! Cats and Dogs are falling everywhere. I’m in my brand new suit and have to concede that in the 600m walk home I will get utterly drenched and hit the dry cleaners tomorrow.
As soon as I get home the clouds make a screaming exit and the sun assumes its previous position of shining brightly!
Now, I don’t know who this Murphy is! But I’m fed up with his cosmic irony!
God may have lost a bet to him at some point allowing this ‘Murphy character’ to jump In and take the piss every now and again but I’ve had enough!!
I say we rebel against Murphy and his entire twisted goings on.
For too long has he committed his incongruously felonious activities.
I say NO to Murphy!!!

And as for the Ring of Fire thing. There is an excellant punkish version of that tune as well. Actually several I think now. We used to do a really rockin version of it, almost bordered on punk in fact.
I saw Cheap Trick do it live once, that was a real riot. Rick absolutely ripped it up guitar solo wise.

Apr 13, 2005 11:35 pm TC, I forgot about Franks version. That indeed is an inspiring thing. That is also a great album. I wish he were still with us, I miss his weirdness.
