Some great tunes in there, sir.
Wish I still had a turntable. I'd be surprised if a few of those weren't quite valuable.

I'm reminded of a couple of "singles" I just had to have. Took me two years to track down "Band of Gold" by Freda Payne, and a similar time to get "Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me)" by Steve Harley and the Cockney Rebel....Oh, how we loved those 45's.

My daughter saw one in an "antique" store, and laughed...

My sister once had a two year quest to find "Little Bit Of Love" by Free.

Those were the days before the internet....

First 45 I ever bought was "Join Together" by The Who, followed by "Space Oddity" by Bowie.

Oh, man, just noticed the Olivia Neutron Bomb single....JET RECORDS...Wow...brings back memories...ELO?

A 45 is a 45 RPM 7" single. They were what you got instead of the full album back in the day. Usually a radio hit single on the A side and something unusual on the B side. Many time's the B side ended up being the bigger hit. You can still find them for certain band's who still release them. Usually independant from a major record label. I have several newer one's by band's like A Perfect Circle and Slipknot as well as many other's that are limited release's. Sometime's they are colored vinyl or may be a picture disc. The Perfect Circle one has allready increased in value since there were only 250 of them made. The Slipknot one was about $25.00 when I bought it and is now over $100.00 as there were only 50 of them printed.

Rigsby, if you have a price in mind you would like to get email me. There are several in there I would be interested in, but I would possibly be willing to buy the whole lot from ya to add to the vinyl pile here.

That's crazy. Somebody told me once that it was tough to beat the sound of a high quality record player because the music was never converted to digital.

UM, ya, they were right. Sort of. There is a completely differant sound. But you arent going to get it on a $100.00 turntable.

... yeah... a bad habbit I picked up was buying cases of records at garage sales... I think I have all of $50 into it and am running out of room :)

It's a different world...just because it's analog doesn't mean it sounds pleasing...

my favorite in my pile'o'plastic is Jethro Tull "Stand Up" ... along with a "for raidio use only" Johny Cash "San Quentin" 45 I also have a crazy folk record with no copyright date on it... containing such classics as "You are my Sunshine", "1814" and a very appalacian version of "Bannana Boat"
