I guess that Smoot has to do something with all that money the Vikes are paying him!

So the 90-person orgy extravaganza was on Lake Minnetonka? I bet Prince was there :)

jeez...reminds me somewhat of the mark chumura (sp?) case a while back where he was at some highschool party and got into a little bit of trouble.

I dunno, considering the whole picture, I don't think it's really that funny...offensive, horribly bad character and just disgusting...

No, people should not become complacent and expect and accept this kind of behavior from anyone...this is digusting.

Apparantly the full details have not hit the national media...it will, and it's nasty...I'm a pretty tough guy to shock, but OMG this is a record in bad decision making...even for a Vikings defensive cornerback.

Normally, I'm amused when a professional athlete has an incident like this. It's usually just immature, spoiled men acting like pre-pubescent boys.

However, this is more than that. This is more than just, "Oops, I got drunk and let Mr. Happy do my thinking!"

The Mark Chumra thing was just plain wrong. This incident is just plain wrong. What has this world come to?

I know we've had this argument before, but professional athletes - by the virtue of their positions - are role model for our children. How do I explain this to my 5th Grade students who are AVID Viking fans? What a let down!

Agreed, this went WAY beyond some rich athlete doing something stupid...this was WAY outta line. Waitresses having to step over and around people in the main public part of the boats that were doing the nasty, playing with sex toys, getting lap dances and some......ummmmmm, noggin'...absolutely inexcusable...young boat staff scared and not knowing how to handle it, or what a 300 lb lineman would do when/if they found out the boat turned to go back home...

I dunno man, I'm tired of these people.

Wow, not good, shades of Ron Mexico.

Let's hope for Daunte's sake that lil' Culpepper was playing under a dome.

ARGH, I just heard that Daunte WAS on the boat, that is seriously depressing. Last night during a press conference, I felt very bad for Mike Tice, you can see in his eyes he is really hurt and angry about the whole thing...I thought considering the situation he handled the press conference pretty well.

Daunte seriously bums me out, I always looked at him as a good person, I really hope he wasn't directly involved...the next shot would be to hear Moe Williams was there...I hope that doesn't come out...

this kills me.

Tice is the big meathead that lost control of the nice, championship-caliber team that he inherited from Denny Green :-|

Tice is a nice guy at heart, or seems so, I like Mike, he knows football very well, I just don't think he has the "coaching" thing down too well (obviously). Denny green was the meathead, make no mistake about it. Denny destroyed the Vikings over his stay here, he had great players and got no where, they would get close to somewhere and choke. Denny was only concerned with offense and destroyed the defense...he is an ignorant person, a horrible speaker, and a half-assed coach at best.

Tice has built up a great roster, what he is having trouble with is pulling it together. It was not a championship caliber team, they were the best in a **** division, teams with no defense (I mean NONE) will never get that far in post season.

This thing looks like it could get ugly. Back in the day, when I was a young Vikings fan growing up in Golden Valley, Harry "Bud" Grant would have never let something like this go on. He would taken names and THEN started kickin' butts!

Attitude reflects leadership...

That being said, were talkin' about grown men who should know better, but the just don't seem to think (or care) about the consequences of their behavior. That's a scary place to be.

I'd rather watch college ball for the slightly less overpaid athletes. Plus, the Hokies have been kicking *** this year. =)

Hey, is there any way to delete your posts? It won't let me delete my posts. I realized I pretty much asked the same question twice in the forum about the M-audio 18/14.

Thanks,
Kenny

It must be that Ohio State players are just trying to be like the pros... www.onnnews.com/Global/st...mp;nav=LQlCaAHU

Last year a number of OSU players were arrested... one for mugging I think...

Thanks for the welcome, DB.
Yeah, Michael Vick got charged with statutory rape or something like that so his little bro took over being QB for the hokies. I don't know the whole story though, I just started at Virginia Tech (grad student, yippee).

It's sad that sports has become such a primary focus in higher education that they let mindless goliaths who otherwise wouldn't make it through college be in college (in degrees an 8th grader could do) so they can be on the football team.

Yeah, I think the system should go back to "hiring by qualifications and performance" rather than by degree. That sounds a little hypocritical coming from a mechanical engineering student...lol.

I better get back to studying for my thermodynamics test. 3 hours till D-day! WOO!

some companies still do it that way...I like those companies, as I taught myself to program...no fancy degrees or anything...I typically show people things like HRC and they pretty much are convinced I kinda know what I am doing.

For sure. I'm a firm believer in teaching yourself, then asking other people when you hit problems (you gotta do that for bad professors a lot...lol). Recording music is DEFINITELY still based on performance and qualifications. You give an idiot with a degree $50k of studio equipment, and a seasoned recording guru $5k of equipment, the guru's going to do a better job simply because he/she is experienced.

(to Gilligan's island)

Come sit right back and you'll hear a tale
A tale of fateful trip
That started from a small lake town
Aboard two tiny ships

The mates were a bunch of pole dancers
But the waitstaff was too pure
The Vikings team set sail that day
For a three hour tour, a three hour tour

The action started getting hot
The dancers strutted their stuff
If not for the prudes in the fearless crew
There wouldn't have been such a huff

The boats turned around and went back home
The authorities came aboard
But fear not friends, 'cause all's not lost
The Vikings finally scored!

They musta made Kare 11 take down the video's as none of them are working tonight. Maybe the server just crashed from to many folks watching them.

I think the thing that make sme even madder is the fact that a bunch of them decided to wip em out and take a leak on some womans front lawn, then when she got all huffed about it they expressed they were just watering the lawn for her. Not sure if this was before boarding the boat or after though it appears from witness that they were drunk when that happened. Only heard that one on the radio news and didnt get to see the report on the live news.
