Motley Crue tonight...w00t

Yay! I get to party with the KFAN sports radio crew tonight in a box seat for the Red, White and Crue show. I'm totally stoked, it's gonna be fun as hell.

Jason H, Hawkie's band played on Saturday, from what I heard on the radio this morning, it sounded like a blast, I totally dropped the ball on getting together for that, but it also sounded like it was elbow to elbow people...which, as I grow older, I hate more...and Saturday afternoon I had Kickboxing so I was kinda tired too...we will have to hook up soon tho, the weather should start getting nicer soon, so we can grab a patio seat somewhere...

dB, just wondering what's up with Tommy, is he not a part of this tour?
There was a shot of them on TV the other night and Tommy wasn't around but there was a great big blonde dude with them instead.

oh, I dunno, I heard he STARTED the tour with them...maybe he's in jail...personally, I felt Tommy was the least critical part of that band :-)

haha the generational gap widens yet again...

I never liked motley crew. I did, however, absolutly LOVE methods of meyhem. Which, of course, was tommy lee.

I thought methods of mayhem was kinda laughable myself, I did however like a couple solo things he did. I don't mind Tommy Lee as a musician, I just didn't think he was what made motley crue what they were, it was far more the voice and Neil and the rude guitar of Mick...to me at least. I always liked Crue's music...at least their earlier stuff, some of the later stuff wasn't what I really dug, but it was still OK.

Well, the show was friggin awesome. I forgot just how many hits the Crue had...2 1/2 hours all motley, all the time. one 10 minute intermission otherwise, all them.

Vince sounds great, still the old Vince, Mick was loud and dirty, Nikki was still doing the low-slung, loud, simple bass and Tommy, well, I have a new appreciation for him after seeing him live, holy crap he hits hard, ALL the time.

Nice to hear. And I'm glad Tommy was with them, I always thought of him as a big part of the Crue.

Thats because Methods of meyhem was not rap. Nor is Limp Bizket, Darwin's waiting room, Shootyz Grove, Hed pe, exc. If you group music like this in with rap, you will never end up with good results in your comparisons.

I consider them spinoffs of rap, heavy rap influences, though not true rap...you can not deny rqap influence and stylings tho.

nor can you deny the influence of rock, metal, exc. all music was influenced by another type of music, but that does not make it the same type. If it did, ALL music would be folk.

Well, I didn't deny the influence of them, nor did I say they were the same type, I said they had influences of it and therefore see why people associate them with it. Big ****** deal...it hardly matters. People can associate anything with anything, it doesn't change what it is, why the debate over OPINION.

I will say this for Crue, they put on a BIG show, covered their library from deep track to new stuff, and rocked it out hard. Stage was a big circus tent with flying trapeese girls very scantally clad, nasty chicks rubbin on each other, choppers with at least a 6 foot rake, lots of pyro...everything that makes a concert good...

Oh, yeah, the free beer and pizza and such was kinda cool too and the comfortable box seats out of the crowd...

true, it's like Kelly said (who didn't go...DAMN) they pushed it about as far as they could to the line where people wouldn't...lots of people had 'em on!

I was surprised as well to see the place full to the top, didn't know if they'd fill it, but damned if they didn't!

Well...I was thinking of getting the Metallica T-shirt at the concert...I didn't after seeing the price...Not knowing at the time when I met the boys...I knocked fists with Het and as I left I was handed a T-shirt...so score twice in 10 seconds...

Wow...back to back, I was 2 years old then....

The buzzkill about that being my first is that it was so great that every show after that might suck to me...

Its like losing your virginity to ((insert fantasy here)) then well...I'll stop there...

My first concert was GWAR. That was awesome, I got covered in piss and blood, thrown around like a rag doll, and somehow lost both of my shoes off my feet while moshing. Not bad for a first show. I don't usually go to stadium shows, since the bands I like probably can't fill a stadium, but the BEST show I've ever seen was the Smashing Pumpkins last show. I'm huge pumpkins fan.

Jason, dB, the Crue is playing the MN State Fair Grandstand in Aug. Tuna and Ray both wanna go bad, mostly Tuna. So I will standing in line for tickets. Also calling 93X trying to get the early freeby's.

dB, I'm glad you said it was a good show because I would hate to waste money and have the boyz be disappointed.

As for first concert, well I got to see Deep Purple before Smoke on the Water was a radio staple. And I got to see The Who and Led Zepplin on their first US tours.

Jeez, am I really that old?
