Feb 11, 2005 08:09 am I had a jam yesterday morning with him... spliced #2 to get a 4.5min jam out of it, and just railed along wit it for a couple of hours . It was a blast ! Funny how playing a Les Paul with a slide, while being backed by Bonaham, just makes everything come out Zep ! lol
'Couple of things I noticed :
He's screaming a bunch of stuff while he plays . My favorite is him saying all drunkenly, at the begining of a take,(obviously after a mess up) "F#%&'in Up !"... then someone in the background is all :"What the f$#%& is going on ? " lol It is hillarious, 'cause I can't imagine being that drunk in the studio, and playing that well... let alone 'sounding' that freaking awesome ! Check out the micing/gating on that kit... perfection .
The second to the last clip is the first verse to 'All Of My Love', in it's entirety .

Feb 11, 2005 12:54 pm yeah i was noticing the gating, also i'm thinkin' some of that reverb is artifical, it really sounds like an early digital reverb, although i'm pretty sure it was just a gated room mic.
