That sure as hell cauld mate.

I tell ye, its cauld here but NOT that cold!!! Jeez...but, on the flipside, that is why we get so much bloody rain here.

It ALWAYS rains in Scotland..thats why we are never short of fantastic water...also why my family (roofing contractors) are kept in business :-) !!

Cheers

Coco.

The "C" is the celcius.

And for the record, today isn't even as cold as we usually see it during the winter, this has been a particularily warm winter.

thank god i am not like my other friends and own snowmobiles and the like.the music gear keeps me out of that cold with the occasional video game or two .

Snowmobiles aren't that bad, at least you are behind windshields to break the wind and sometimes have the heat of the motor blowing back at you keeping you warm.

That said, I am not a winter person, why I live in Minnesota is ONLY because the market in my line of work isn't that great yet, when it improves and I have a good chance of finding a good job down south, me and my family are OUTTA HERE...Arizona if Denny Green gets himself fired from their football team. New Mexico otherwise. :-)

I still see grass, we don't have much snow (which is odd, we should have about 2 feet by now)...it's just cold as @%^##$&@^%$#@

actually i lived in albequerque for awhile and when i do retire and get sick of the cold (and the kids move out) the wife and i are thinking of going back or to hawaii, but we also were thinking we would buy an RV and just see the country and become one of those annoying 35mph drivin' people that we get so upset with now .

Meanwhile in the UK it's been our first sunny day today for months, still a little nippy, but beautiful. Off to the park to record some deer and parrots with my MD, too good a day to miss out on being outside.

I never want to see snow again. Hate it. And don't give me that "Oh, but it's so pretty..."

67ºF today, and that's cold for around here (Ventura, CA). If we could only dry out a little. The ground's saturated from last week's storms.
I have a couple of friends who live in La Conchita. I saw one on the news, so I know he and his family are okay, and the other has been displaced from his home (all okay too). It's absolutely terrible what happened there. I've been waiting for a week to travel up the 101, but it's still closed.

TO add to the We're Neighbors thing, I happen to live in Santa Barbara Ca myself. And today it is sunny and not so warm. Currently 39ºF. Way colder than usual for Santa Barbara. (I think the average temp for a year is in the low 70's)

I grew up in Mass. and I am also sick of the snow and cold. NEVER want to live in it again. Good luck dB. Hope the market gets good soon so you can get to warmer grounds.

Cool, Philthyone! Just moved out of SB county (Carpinteria) to Ventura (rode the property prices high in SB, and lower in VTRA). I couldn't afford to live in SB county any more. The sun is shining at last. There's snow on the mountains behind Ventura...nasty stuff.

LOL

Yeah, baby. The Eagles without Terrell and the starters pretty much not playing for almost a month, yeah, we have a chance if they don't implode like the last half of the season.

Ah heck the cold is not that bad. We camp out in this stuff. Last year we camped out in -7 f with a -57 degree windchill. Born and raised in Minnesota. When the temp hits 37 degree's above zero I am back in my t-shirt and shorts. Heck, my 12 year old rides his bike to school in this crap. Even when there is 2 feet of snow. He is the envy of all his friends. Or maybe they just think he's nuts.

But ya, Im with dB. Next good offer that comes along for a full time gig out west, I'm takin it. I dont like winter without snow.

Hey dB, it's -33C here without wind-chill, into the -40's with. One morning we had 60kph winds to go along with it (and yes, I was working as a rent a cop and out in it for 7 hours the past 3 nights).

Warming up for the weekend they say, at least I hope so. It hasn't been this bad here in a few years, so I'm betting on it being a short one.

i think it was 80 here two days ago.

at night, 60's.

this is unusual, it's usually a bit cooler. coldest yet this year was 30 i think, one night. usually come january we see maybe a week like that. people cover thier tropical plants with sheets and complain and shiver violently, and i laugh, cause i'm from pittsburgh.

Waldo, have you got any snow up there yet? We dont have squat down here. Like dB said, you can still see the ugly brown dead grass.

Yeah, we had snow every night for a while, side of the walk is piled up to at least 4 feet now. Don't know how much fell, but it was enough.
