Ok last night I put up foam using sticky back velcro strips...

My wishes is to not permanently adhere it to the wall (semi-gloss latex paint).

So I am working at my desk and laughing my a$$ off cuz it started dropping from the wall...2 here 3 there after about 4 hours...it was funny to me...

The strips dont adhere to the foam very good but the wall quite nicely...Wondering if there is something I am not thinking of for a temporary solution....???

In a previous life I glued a bunch of foam to big sheets of cardboard and hung the cardboard like a picture, or set the cardboard upright on furniture...

I would do what db said. I wasn't thinking ahead and I'm paying for it now, since the studio is moving out of the house i have all this treatment to pull off a textured wall... not going to be good.

I don't know if this is a solution for you...but I used a staple gun...one sheet required about 9 or so staples. The foam on the ceiling required more though...

I used fairly long staples to be able to get through the foam...but the foam I used is only mattress underlay.

A girl and a staple gun...can do a lot of damage!

Cheers,

Oh my, It's all of us then! Good safety tip; Do not buy a home from recording musicians!

I tried a couple types of double faced tape. No go; sag, droop, drop.

A bit ago someone here posted a link to some pre made panels the were very expensive but one thing their site showed was the approach of making the panels somewhat riged and stringing them like pictures in the back, then using single picture hangers to hold them to walls. I am going to try this next.

Well, I use Foamtak spray adhesive from Auralex. You can get it from most good music retailers. It sprays on the foam itself and then sets up for about a minute. Then you simply press it to the wall and its all good. I have had the sheets up and down and not had any stains or paint removed by this stuff. I even used it on wooden doors and such. They have also been up for about 6 years and not fallen down yet by them selves.
