guys, i am interested in this card and i want to make sure about the connection. what type of connection for the input and the output? i read the review and it is said that it has RCA for the output. i use to directly plug my mic into the mic in of my soundcard using a 1/4 to 1/8 converter.
can i do that with this card?

thanks

No way, gelay... sorry, bad rhyme . : )

I have the card, and it requires a pre-amp'd input, like that from a mixer, or a standalone mic-pre... and they are RCA inputs, like that of your typical audio equipment . ie... home sterio . Great card for the $$, though . If your going to pick one up, maybe consider getting a little mixer as well . Try to stay away from the converters though, as they add noise . It's better to use a chord that has the right ends at each of it's length .

Hue is correct.

a pre-amp is required. I would also recommend the card as the input quality is great. You should pick up a cheap pre-amp mixer along with it. It will cost a little $$, but it's worth every penny.

Behringer can get you into the small mixer market for next to nothing if you're on a shoestring budget. I mean, with an entry-level price like this, ya can't go too wrong:

service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear

Or, if you have $100 extra after purchasing the sound card, I've heard great things about this series of mixers:

service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear

^^^That's a lot of features for under 100 smackaroos.

Would a PODxt work as a preamp going directly from the PODxt into the audiophile 2496? I just purchased a PODxt and am overwhelmed with how awesome this unit is. I would highly recommend it to any guitar player who does computer based home recording. I also have an audiophile 2496 sound card but have not yet hooked up the POD to it...yet. Or would you recommend I should go ahead and get a mixer...or do I really need one?

The POD will act as a preamp for you.

I think that the Audiophile has L+R RCA inputs, and I think that the POD has L+R 1/4" outs, so you'll need to visit your local Radio Shack to find some adaptors.

hi tadpui, thanx a lot for the sharing. so i think i am gonna go for the behringer also...(cant wait to go the music shop, cos it's almost payday!)

i am interested in the UB802, cause it said it has phantom power for the mic.

but is the eurorack series can really act as a pre-amp with the built in invisible mic preamp?

anyone had any experience with the behringer eurorack series?

thanks

I used an 802 euromack for years, they are decent, but the newer UB series sounds way better. Still, not the top preamps, but very much imporved over the Eurorack.

hi dB masters, thanx again for the sharing. again with my boring questions, so it mean that if i want to use a recording soundcard like m-audio pci series, i also have to equipped myself with mixing console?

unless you get a sound card that has preamps built in it as well, yes, that is pretty much what I am saying.
