Bore the Vote!

hehehe, OK, not really, it's important, I'm just sick of hearing about it and will be glad when it's over.

Here are two things that have indicated votes well.

The Nickolodian (kids cable TV channel) has voted accurately for the last 4 elections, the kids picked Kerry this year.

Today, the Washington Redskins are at home against Green Bay. If Washington wins their game before the elections, it has ALWAYS indicated that the existing administration will stay in place.

Food for thought, funny stuff to pay attention to. It'd be funny if those two contradicted each other.

Go vote Nov 2

Good news for all Bush backers: the Packers are in the process of pi$$ing away a big lead to the Redskins. :-(

I hereby retract the pi$$ing away statement. (However, if not for an illeagal motion penalty followed by an interception, the 'Skins had it won!)

The Redskins/election thing has been accurate since 1936.

But then again, the Red Pox haven't won the world series since 1918, so anything goes this year, lol.

P.S. No offense Db, but my Giants own your Vikes, hehehe.

About the Vikings, you've got a great team but Daunte gave you guys bad karma against the Giants before the 2000 NFC championship game by saying in an interview how cool it was going to be to play in the Superbowl that year which was being played on the same date as his birthday.

YEah, the Vikes have trouble with the Giants, it's just one of those "curse's" that haunt them. But the Vikes also have a history of loosing games they should win and beating teams they have no business beating.

It's a hard life being a Vikes fan...

I do have to say tho, Jeremy Shockey is my favorite "bad boy" of the NFL, Shockey rocks! Tiki Barber I am bored of.

I wish Mewlde Moore wouldn't have sprained his ankle, cuz I was bummed to see Michael Bennett get so much playing time, the more he plays, the more likely to get hurt, he's always hurt...****, last season he got hurt on a ****** treadmill!

I hear you in regards to playing up or down to your competition, we've been doing that for years.

I was really hoping that was a Jim Fassel issue and that we would be done with things like that and losing after the bye week butthen we go and lose to Detroit last week and win at Minnesota...

The NFL has gotten really strange since they ushered in the era of free agency and the salary cap.

Good luck to your Vikes from here on out, you guys should finish very high in the standings.

Yeah, I have a feeling we shall meet again in the playoffs, but who knows.

You are right, the couple seasons have been weird, the games that some teams win and some loose is very strange. the "upset" seems to be the norm.

I feel sorry for the true Vikings fan...The ones who live and die with the squad and stay real. (which is about 1% of all Viking 'fans')...

Vikings fans are now the "Boston Red Sox" fans of professional sports...so full of admiration and hope, but in the end they always get let down...

In light of all this, I am a Moss pimp...not because he runs like the wind (healthy) but because he is a great athlete like KG. I felt sorry for Moss having to deal with Cris Carter's yap, and this poor excuse for the media out here...

Especially during the traffic cop incident...Stereotypical Minnesotans are always looking to jump on some bullsh**...

Nothing wrong with cheering your squad on...Hell my squad ain't even playing...

Moss seems to have grown up a little bit. That traffic cop incedent happened at my bus stop and I missed the whole thing by about 5-10 minutes. People said that was one of the most stupid things they have ever seen anyone do.

He is a great athlete, arguably the best in the league, but that does not allow you to live above the law, hell, it just means you can catch a ball. It doesn't change people lives, help people or contribute to better society.

That said, unlike many, I am a true Vikings fan, and have been since childhood, sitting in the old Met Stadium with my dad in the freezing cold watching games...ah, the memories.

I can tell you are dB...The Metrodome SUCKS!!! Sterile air with a sterile crowd!

It's not like Moss ran her down...
I don't where he ever indicated he's above the law? He did something dumb in which the law was involved...who hasn't had their times?

Sad thing about all this...he does something dumb...people immediately crucify him...Yet, how many times has he gone over to the folks in the wheelchairs to give TD balls midgame, instead of acting like a selfish clown (Terrell Owens) in the endzone. NO ONE covers that...(by the way...balls that get distributed to the crowd is a fine)

Hell, look at Ray Lewis for gods sake...

Oh, well, keep in mind Moss JUST started doing that, and while one thing he has started with the Vikes was jumping into the crowd after a TC and stuff that gets the crowd into it, that was something MN always lacked at the dome was connecting with a crowd like that, I was glad to see that.

However, regarding running down or not running down, whether she actually got hurt wasn't really the point, what it was was a blatant disregard for authority and when the whole joint found in his car thing came up it was answered with a "The NFL knows what Randy Moss does with marijuana" blah, blah, blah.

First, I hate anyone that refers to themselves in the third person, second whether or not you want it or asked for it, part of what comes along with being a millionaire super star athlete is lots of kids looking up to you and the true stars acknowledge that and at least put up a false front when in the public eye.

Guys like T.O. are FAR worse than Moss, Chris Carter was a horrible human being when he first started in the league in Phili, and personally, I think he still is, however, just because there are worse, doesn't make him better.

That said, I like Moss, he is fun to watch and a great athlete, he's competitive and cocky enough to put fear into any opponent. I just don't think he is a "good guy", thats all.

From an outsider's point of view... I have never liked Moss. I will agree that he is probably the best wide reciever in the league. And he and Daunte have really stuck it to the Packers more than I care to remember. For all of the reasons that you mention, dB, Moss has never impressed me as a human being.

My son worships Moss, and the Vikings (where did I go wrong?) That bothers me.

However, I have seen him mature over the past two seasons, and maybe he will turn into the kind of leader on and off the field that the Vikings need. (They sure didn't do much without him yesterday!)

Your son is a Vikings fan, well, that shows some very good marks for your aprenting skill, my most sincere (and sarcastic) compliments ;-)

Yeah, I am hoping, with the improvement in his attitude could be a good thing, I like seeing him leep into the stands, congratulate other players on good plays, hyping on the sidelines and other things that are a good sign of a true leader.

I think, like many college stars, he came in to the league with a pretty big head, then he got hit for a couple seasons in the NFL and realized he ain't in college no more.

T.O. came in with a big head, and now, regarding the Vikings, we now have this Ontario Smith jackass that thinks he's God's gift to football. The Packers had McKenzie, but Sherman got rid of him...There are always a few in the league...

I always personally like McKenzie, but apparantly he was a really troublemaker in the locker room and in the team dynamics...can't have that.

Moss did the ball giving early in his career...People just missed it...I'll fight that till the freckles fall off me.

The true Viking fan should be used to the 3rd person' talk from the Herschel Walker days... ;)

Kids need to have their role models "parented"...It shouldn't be up to the athlete to walk on eggshells just cuz some kid is watching...Kids should look at athletes as models for "excellence on the field"...NOT IN LIFE...If parents talked to their kids and not let the TV do so...we wouldn't care as much,(think Mickey Mantle.

I will back Moss, all day...bar none. I think he's picked on by the league, the fans & the media...and for petty stuff...I think an argument can be made once he pulls some stuff like Jamal Lewis and starts drug trafficing through a cell phone...

Go Wild!

PS. Cris Carter was a coke head...
T.O. acts like a coke head...

I believe that you, me, and everybody else have the reponsibility to be positive role models in whatever we do. Yet, we all fail to some degree, myself included.

The problem with professional athletes and entertainers is that they are in the spotlight, and their successes and shortcomings are more evident than ours.

There are some great athletes who really understand this, and it shows in the way they carry themselves both on and off the field.

Moss came into this league thinking the world should stand still for him. Gatorade bottles, traffic cops, taking plays off, whining about not getting the ball, even when his TEAM was winning games.

And it was another overreaction by media...he coulda pushed him or done something to him physically like others have done...it was only water...the penalty and the fine was sufficient...the way people reacted it was as if he slashed the refs tires...lets just nail him to a cross...

Another thing...I still play organized sports CONSTANTLY...When heat/emotion/testosterone sets in and you are boiling, you do or say stupid stuff...I don't walk around cussing at refs and umpires, thinking I am bigger than the game (T.O.) but when something goes wrong or you feel wronged, you lose your head sometimes...Doesn't mean he's a bad guy...

No, but it again shows a complete lack of respect for authority...which has been a consistent story for him through high school, college and professional football...except for the last couple of years.

I have spent many years playing sports, had to stop a couple years back due to physical issues and injuries, but yeah, I am well aware of the testosterone/emotion issue, but the bigger, and generally more productive athlete (and this applies to non-athletes as well in all areas of life) is the person that can maintain their cool and keep a level head.

Actually, I did something pretty similar to a ref in high school while playing basketball...looking back it was funny, but I shoulda been kicked out of the league.

I had kind of a hot temper as a kid...

My two cents in regards to Moss...

Fantastic talent, used to get (and deserve) a lot of criticism for his off the field behaviour and for saying things like "I only give %100 when I feel like it" and not busting his *** when his team would fall behind.

Randy has grown up a lot in the last few years, he used to be right up there on my list of most hated players but having watched him over the last 2 years he is a guy I'd love to have in Giants blue.

I'd love to see him in Giants blue also, then we wouldn't have to face him twice a year.

Is he going to be ready to play in two weeks, when the Vikes play the Pack?

Well I don't cuss at refs/umpires unless something REALLY bad happens...

I got called for pass interference for going for the ball...I took the only angle I had and made a good play...at the point of contact the reciever fell and I got called for interference...cuz I went 'through' the guy.....Yeah, I wasn't happy...I thought I was in the NFL...

I don't think Moss is an angel or the best guy...My point is there always worse situations in sports...(Latrell Spreewell vs PJ Carlisimo) (Pete Rose). Randy needed to grow up on his own without #80 in his ear...Hopefully the petty antics are over...

The men in all sports that I adore is Brett Favre & Kevin Garnett

Farve is a class guy, Garnett I like, but these recent punching things I'd like to get a better story on...but then, as much as I like the sport of basketball, I hate the business of professional basketball...they have wrecked a great sport.

I like Culpepper, he seems like a decent person. I met Greg Beikert, that is one really nice guy...and actually Chris Hovan was so nice to my 6 year old daughter I can't help but like him.

Being 6'4"/225 I like playing basketball with da boys though :-)

The site is designed for what? 1280 resolutions or something? I like the basic look, but one should never have a horizontal scrollbar if over 800x600. I am at 1024x768 and have one...

Get the "Web Developer" extension toolbar for FireFox. It has simple one button features to help validate code and such useful things. One feature it will automatically resize your browser to different resolutions. You can work in 1280, but one button and you browser will resize to 800x600, 1024x768 or any size you set up in it. It makes checking your site in different window sizes very easy.

Suggest you make sure it works in 800 and up. 800x600 is still about 40-50% of the surfing public.

oh, and loose the frames

I always go between 700 and 800 pixels for width of a web page. dB is right, the horizontal scrollbar is annoying.
