A local radio station played this tune,
www.homerecordingconnecti...s/CherryRed.mp3
over the weekend on their blues hour. I did it in my home studio a few weeks ago. I'm still a beginner in the recording world, however each and every one of you guys who have ever givin me advice or commented on one of my threads, should take the credit for it. After all, you guys have been teaching me how to do it. I just want to thank you guys.

Mar 28, 2011 05:33 pm That sound really good! I'm digging the Nord Electro that you have in there. A little light in the mix, right where it should be. And not heavy on the vocal effect. Great job!

Mar 28, 2011 10:03 pm This sounds like a really good live recording. Like I feel like I'm in a bar and the band is playing. Song is very cool, is it original?
Congrats on getting the radio play! Were you able to hear it on the radio or just someone told you about it getting played?
Mar 28, 2011 10:31 pm Thanks guys! I was told it was going to be on friday night. between 8-9 we played a gig that started at 8:30. I didn't get to hear it. It's based on a real old songthats a public domain tune, but it has evolved to the point where its all different, and realy the only resemblence is the words"my big fat face turn cherry red" Mrs. Bigbluesman loves it. It's my favorite tune to do. It's not live. I used the same method I'v been using:
drum machine sequence 1st.
bass track
rythm guitar
vocals
back up vocals
2 organ tracks
another rythm guitar
light piano
in that order. i play every part.
That cool organ sound is from a $30 10 year old radioshack keyboard. Its little more than a toy, really. I run it through a rotory effect, on the front side, then after its recorded, hit it with the sonic maximizer, and the thing sounds cool as hell. I got lucky figuring that out! Thanks fellas...I wanted all of you to share in my joy.

Mar 29, 2011 03:54 pm Man that was sweet! I hope you see some more air play on it.
Apr 05, 2011 12:59 pm I just found out that it has been added to their play list! That particular station is really good about supporting and showcasing local talent. It's a new station. I hope every town gets a station like this one. It's about time that amatuer local musicians, like me, get some props!
