I want to be able to use the Piano Roll inside my Home Studio Program with the Delta 66 card; Does anyone know if Delta 66 has Midi Recording and Playback? I looked at the specs, the only thing it mentions is.. soft synths. Thanks

no MIDI on the Delta 66. I use the Delta 44 and get my MIDI ins/outs from a Midiman Midisport 2x2 USB box and a second soundcard, an SB Live. Get a cheap Soundblaster in addition to your Delta for quick and easy MIDI. The breakout box is what I usually use. It has activity lights and stuff. 2 ins 2 outs. I need more synths and stuff for it. But you can do it however you like. It's up to you.

Thanks Jamie. I guess I'm really showing my ignorance here. I bought the Delta 66 believing it had midi. I did my homework..or at least I thought I had. I looked at all the specs & applications..read alot of reviews..got alot of good info from this website. I just misunderstood the applications on M-Audio's site when it said...Soft Synths. But I was thinking of doing what you said about the SB card..good idea. Thanks

Hi Jamie. I was thinking of doing the Sound Blaster with the Delta. But I was wondering if you could explain how you arrange the hook up of the speakers/headphones..since you have two sound cards? You have two sound sources and only one set of speakers..how does that work? If I'm being unclear, please let me know and I'll try and clarify. Thanks
ps..Suggestions from everyone welcome.

Use your Delta as the main Audio in and out for your recording application. And only use the midi in and out port of the SB card in the recording app. You just need to go to options/audio and choose the Deltas audio drivers, and then go to options/midi and choose the SB cards midi in and out and your all set.

wrmach, i have some silly little computer speakers hooked up to the soundblaster. They don't respond below 80Hz. I don't use them much. The Delta gets routed back to my mixer where I can send it anywhere (headphones, surround sound system, minidisc, tape deck, etc)

hi, just wanna make sure i understood correctly. im thinkin of buing a delta 66 for using with my mpc1000 and i also have old sb live 1024 soundcard. so using sb's midi port with delta 66 is a "piece of cake"? im just asking cause that 66 will take all my salary so it's a noodleweek for me :)

I thought the delta 66 had midi... mainly because I bought the Delta 44, and the ad read " for people Looking to purchase a Delta 66, But do not have a need for S/PDIF and MIDI inputs..."

Delta 66 does not have midi (I own one). It does have s/pdif inputs though. Like was mentioned earlier in the post, I send all my midi through an additional soundblaster card.

im considering upgrading to a delta 44 in my next pc.... would it be easy to install my current audiophile alongside it to handle my (very basic) midi needs?

Yeah, I've heard you can do this with no problems. Never done it myself though (2 m-audio products anyways).
