... grand total of $3.79...

that would be close on covering the cost to actually get it to the bank...

theoretically they took my 2007 tax debt out of it... but of course took the wrong amount out (about $1 too much) and didn't make a note of the deduction anywhere...so now I have to call the IRS to see if I still owe anything... good thing I didn't pay last week...

...this is almost as funny as when they sent me to collections for a $0 debt a few years ago...

Got mine yesterday too! $1,800!! Should I spend it on music gear or on a new front door for the house? A new guitar or maybe landscaping?

I know...I'll use it to fill up the gas tank a couple of times.

Thanks for the money, George! You're not such a bad guy after all!

I got $1500, I paid off a credit card and now have $150 less in payments per month. I am slowly working my bills down to house\car\utilities so I can finally have some money to spend on gear.

$1800? $1500? I thought it was $600 max? Is it because you have dependents, or are filing jointly?

I'm still waiting for mine. Prolly will shove mine in the bank. But I'm seriously considering getting a condensor and possibly melodyne soon...

Indeed, I was $1500 because of the wife and kid.

Yep, we 2, plus 3 kids is 2100.

so we'll get bush goodies, and give 'em to my local principality / county.

( this better bring up my property value, dammit! )

I don't feel half bad spending what I did on the new studio PC then knowing what you spent on a PLAY HOUSE.

I bet it ain't even big enough for you to go hide in when you've been a bad boy.

Noize, do you feel like sharing some links to the new studio box? I've been toying with the idea of building a new studio pc from scratch for a while, but every time I start, I get confused with what motherboard works with what chip/chip set and I get tired of doing research and I just keep the one I have. You mentioned fins for cooling? Does it look like an old caddy?

Here is my wishlist from newegg on a new DAW PC. There are areas where I could reduce some cost but I think it would be fast as hell and pretty quiet. The only thing I may add would be the HDD enclosuers that reduce noise levels.

Quad core, P35 chipset, 250GB system drive, 1TB storage drive, fanless power supply and fanless video card that can handle larger resolutions. Individual items listed below. This does not include OS by the way.

I got an AR-15 with mine. It was the only thing I could think of that was American made besides Hookers or Meth, and half of those are Mexican.

coolo, ya I'll post with the makings of the new PC after Tunas grad party on Sunday.

And ya the PSU is killer, not cheap but it does not make a sound at all. Dead quiet.

But the fins are not Caddy style saddly, more like something from the future. That and the mother is huge in size. 500 watts though for all the damn drives. Its got a bit over 1.5 terrabites of drives in it now but will go over 2 tb when I'm finished, and thats just whats in the case.

Just a quick note is that it is and AMD 64 X2 Dual core 6400+ Black Editiion on one of MSI's higher end MoBo's. It was the most stable of all the CPU/MoBo combo's I looked at. Flus my buddy at the store I use will light up several boards for me and see which set up works the best and most stable.

Cpt. Tripps, Except for the fanless pwr supply and case, you've detailed the contents of my two new PCs. Well, seven month old PCs.

I have WinXP Pro on both. They are exact twins as far as hdwr. I call 'em the "Twin Towers" with all due respect.

They work great with Sonar 7 Studio.
