Can I have reasonable acoustics isolation using walls of foam? my objective is maily to kill the excessive reverberation.
What cheap materials or fabrics would recommend me in thet case?

What kind of foam are you talking about? How big is the room? or are you talking about a smaller space. I have an area small area that I use acoustic ceiling panels in to help deaden the reverb. It looks a little silly but it works!

If you want what to do what I think you want to do... carpet works great. Go to your nearest carpet instalation place, and ask them if you can raid their dumpster... it'll be free, and you'll have tons o' fun pickin' through the trash.

Yeah, carpet works great - we did it in one of my friend's room to improve his monitoring situation.

Incase you are interested, you can see if your room needs dampening just by clapping your hands. Turn everything off so the room is nice and quiet, close the door, sit down where you monitor and just clap. If there is a large reverb tail then you need to do something about it or learn to compensate for it, if not, congrats :D

The best place to put the carpet is on reflective walls - the wall facing the speakers and the wall behind the speakers will need treating - as will certain points on the sides - it's all about angles.

If you don't want to put carpet everywhere (I mean, it doesn't exactly look good, does it) - then drapes work well, as does having a random room layout, as furniture will also act to deflect soundwaves and absorb high frequencies.

jues.

if you're worried about how the carpets looks, you could always just have all your friends tag it before you hang it up

carpeting doesn't look too bad if you're lucky enough to get it all one colour, but that's unlikely unless you want to spend the money for it. Go to a carpet store and ask for their scraps, most likely they'll have some squares they can give out...

Haha... my studio is 15 different colors! I love it! It's art, man! And ya gotta love the wicked huge piece of bright yellow shag on the back wall!

everyone should have yellow shag behind their drum kit. i have yellow shag on my bedroom (read "studio") floor, and it's the stuff dreams are made of. or is that instant mashed potatos? i always get those two confused.
