Happy Thanksgiving [US]

This thanksgiving is practically turning into christmas for me... I'm getting a house... all I have to do is pay utilities...

My Life is a Bad Movie Plot #1:
I'm 27 years old and live with my parents... and they're moving out this weekend... :|

They bought an old farmhouse 12 years ago to rehab and now they're moving in... but the current house hasn't sold yet and has no prospects (I think they're asking too much) Also, it's zoned commercial (C1) so I can acually have a "studio". ...plus because I can now practically ignore any sense of noise contol I can work on projects at all hours of the night... plus at my current rate... If I can just book full 10 days (either audio, video, or photo) a month I should be able to buy the place...

...hmmm... this is either going to work increably well... or blow up in my face...

A Thanksgiving of mixed emotions. First one without mom, dad seemed OK, after he left me and my sister had a rather emotional conversation. Very sad.

On the flip side, I started taking my studio apart and cleaning the area up, lots of stuff going up for sale in the classifieds. dB is reorganizing his life downsizing studio demands into a more effective situation.

While I on the other hand am still pondering the upsizing of things. Like the addition on the house.

But indeed rather then stuff turkey I had a few pieces but plowed through a couple rather large helpings of ham and green bean casserole. And the ham was delicious especially with my home made horseradish. Man I love that stuff, made my sister think she was going into menopause from the sweat.

Other then that I'm about to hit the hay to get up at 3:30 am and dB is stopping by to pick up Tuna and myself for our annual Black Friday outing. It will be Tunas first year with us, lucky it wont be bone chilling cold out. But me, I"m more excited about getting a pair of 19" widescreen flat panel's for $129.00 each. Man I love this time of year, at least until I look at my bank account. :-)

i've been fighting extremists over thanksgiving for two days. people who want to see the holiday as evil because of the whole indian situation. wow, are those people sad.

i have an entire 5-point treatise to set them right. it's very good.

happy thanksgiving!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving guys .

Still feeling very thankfull, or 'lucky' as it may be .

Yeah forty, those peeps that call it 'American Indian Innihilation Day' are really missing the point of this holiday . I think it has somewhat to do with the WAY they were fed the 'facts' .

I'm late with this one too, hope you had a good 'Turkey day'.On tv I saw some people lowering their turkey into boiling oil with a few disasters,is this a good way to cook it?

Oh yeah ! Without the fire, of course . We sometimes throw bashes with three or four of them puppies going at once... quick and easy way to feed fifty peeps . The bird comes out awesome, not greasy at all .

I am befuddled as to why a turkey should not be consumed on any other day than x-mas .

Just to add :- in UK people have stickers in cars saying," A Dogs for life, not for Christmas " so hence the turkey quote ;)

I don't know if I'd want to eat 'dog'... on any day . Is there some sort of political platform over there reguarding drive-through restaurants serving canine meat ?

Just playing with words Hujumbo... I get it, though I don't agree... turkey is good all the time, except that time when you've had 'enough damn turkey, forcryinoutloud !' .

Hue, ya we have two turkey friers we use for both boiling water and frying turkey in the scout troop trailer. And man it is so tender and tasty, and as stated above not greasy at all.

But I'm with dB, I'll eat turkey any day. And meat just that plain and simple, meat is good. But ya, the wife and I used to do that as well, wait till turkey was good and cheap or a local farmer was butchering some and get one really cheap. then we had lunches and dinner for weeks.

Last year I got one from a local farm and when they said on the phone "how big" I said "fairly big" but it turned out to be like an ostrich!I got it in the sink and cut it in half so it would fit in the oven and froze half.Very nice n tasty though :)

No turkey for me. 'er indoors and the wee one went up to 'er sister's and left me alone with my flu/cold/cough/sore throat. I know...poor me. Cooked a steak on Thursday, eaten very little since then.

Of course, I've had the house to myself, so I've had my little Epiphone valve junior in the house.....noodle, noodle (makings of one new song..).
