So what's eveyone's favourite horror flick?

I remember being 8 or 9 and watching the original "Tales From The Crypt" movie (Peter Cushing etc.) and having nightmares for months.

I think horror flicks are stupid, I do, however, love Hitchcock and Twilight Zone

'The Ring' scared me...

It's all entertainment.

Yeah, The Ring was interesting, kinda creepy...really creepy actually, as far as that type of movie goes, it was well done.

The kind I hate are the bloody, nasty, ultra-gore type of movies, they are just stupid.

Anything with Vincent Price in it... it doesn't even matter if it's a bad movie... he'll rock it .

The best/worst is one called The Last Man On Earth . It's a zombie-type horror film, with a twist . Price plays a charracter that has not been effected by whatever made everyone into zombies, so he goes around taking them out in vast numbers for years, and years(goes quite insane)... the twist comes when he finds out that it was caused by a freak accident, and that the people responsible were getting close to having a 'cure' for the 'condition', and that he was being hunted by them for being the 'monster' he was by killing all those 'sick' people . Great 'bad' flick .

The new Dawn Of The Dead was pretty fun .

Was' with the 'cookbook ?' title, TallChap ?

It was a "Twilight Zone" or similar called "To Serve Man." A bunch of aliens arrive, and are friendly, and help out mankind in all sorts of ways. They have a book called "To Serve Man." The humans think it's a book on how to be nice, and subservient to people, and the aliens are all very pleasant and take them away in their spaceships for a nice ride...etc. Then someone deciphers that it's actually a recipe book on how to "Serve Man." Creepy. "It's a cookbook!" is the cry....

SOILENT GREEN.............

IS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But really, Vincent Price does indeed rock. Dr. Phibes was great as a thriller.

I love horror movies of all kinds, even the gory ones. But the gorry ones are more for fun to see how they have changed over the years special effects wise. Its fun to try and figure out how the head talks when its off the body in those 60's gore movies, even the 70's.

A couple of my favorite horror/thriller are all the Phantasm movies, Hellraiser movies, (Pinhead is my hero) Wishmaster cheesy is more discript of the Wishmaster.

But an old 70's drive in flick was REanimater. The dude brings all kinds of crap back to life with some green slime he injects, including humans. Again it is the cheese that makes it great.

Dead Alive, Soylent Green, The Reanamator, Hellraisers, and Phantasms... all good ! BUT, The Exorcist was truly scary to me the first time I seen it... I was maybe nine or ten, and I didn't sleep for two days due to nightmares ! haha

I also remember being pretty mad that they rolled that Hemicuda in Phantasm 2 . >: l Bastards .

Candyman was a scary one for me. I liked all the Nightmare on Elm Street films. More recently; The Ring and The Hills Have Eyes.

Even The Evil Dead's VHS cassette scared me when I was a kid. A month back i watched it again and then I realized that the movie was hillarious. Never could have guessed the director is the same guy who directed Spiderman..

Hue, the Hemi Cuda is what caught Tunas attention in Phantasm. And ya, I think we were all mad when they rolled it.

The Nightmare on Elmstreet series is good for sure. Lots of interesting effects there.

I'm suprised no one has brought up Jason Vorhease or Micheal Meyers yet. Those as well were good series of scary movies.

How about a gorry one, The Tool Box Murders.

I remember watching a bunch of Karen Black movies that were pretty good as well. Trilogy of Terror was a tv movie that she made in the 70's. One of them was about a pygmy statue that would come alive and chase you with a spear and very sharp teeth. Scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. The pygmy use to hide under the bed and such and as a kid, well.... yup

BeerHunter, Trilogy of Terror was the greatest TV horror thng ever. And I have to admit, I had the hots for Karen Black after seeing her in that. Sick and twisted, I know. But hell ya, that little pygmy was the greatest. And ya, the nightmares that movie induced in my sisters. I suppose it didn't help that I would send crap scuttling under their beds in the middle of the night.

i'll agree with db on the twilight zone. strange how those never get old. from the 50's and 60's, and the datedness of them now actually adds to the creepiness. those are great things to watch.

i liked the ring, but i kind of wish i didnt. i thought the premise was terrible. but the content of the video itself is really, really creepy. and there are just little things in there that are so strange. like when the woman approaches the well near the end, and high on a hill above her a mile in the distance is a horse. the horse stops walking at the same moment the woman does. the horse is so far in the distance...it is a very creepy effect.

unless i imagined it. but that's one of the little things i think i remember.
