I am in need of a really dreamy/chewy delay/echo pedal and I heard a lot of great things about the EH Deluxe Memory Man. I already have the Boss unit and a DanEcho and they are to choppy/robotic if you know what I mean.
Does anyone here have the MM or is there something better I should be looking at inthe 200-300 dollar range?
Thanks!
Rob

Feb 10, 2006 11:13 am I've read several good reviews of the Line6 DL-4. Its a delay modeller, so it might still have some of that "robotic" characteristic that you hear. But it seems that lots of people love it. It may be worth finding one to demo and see what you think of it.

You reminded me of my old Rockman delay... I miss it terribly . : ( I hope to get a hold of one again someday... someday .
Man, it was all of what you're looking for... but you'll only find 'em used these days . Highly recomended .
Feb 10, 2006 02:49 pm mmm... those put out some nice, warm, analog delay. If I still played live, I'd get one in a second.
If you're looking for something "non-robotic", have you considered the real deal? Maybe a Echoplex, Space Echo, Watkins CotyCat or if you really want to blow some cash, go for a Fulltone Tube Tape Echo. Those look really sweet. Can't beat the real thing.

Feb 10, 2006 10:13 pm I used alot of EH products, and they all have great tube warmth. One of the bands in my labels guitarists uses a deluxe memory man for his live rig and its very warm and big and easy to use. its a really great pedal hands down.
The line6 DL-4 imo is more for ppl who like a variety of delays by sacrificing the analog quality just a bit, with line6 their probably the closest ive heard to the stuff they say they model but still its a modeler not an actual analog unit.

Feb 24, 2006 04:40 pm Got the memory Man Deluxe and I love it! Extremely quiet and it provides an awesome blend of delay/echo. it's fantastic on clean / bluesy stuff.
Mar 01, 2006 09:56 am I just ordered one off ebay last night. The guy in my band has one and we use it alot. On vocals it can add some really cool effects and since its analog it really warms up a signal. I unfortunatly have a crate amp that I have to record with and the MM just adds such a nice warm tone to the signal now.
You can get them used on ebay for like 150 ish
