About Bassmusician

My name is Jack, I have played in many bands, since I was a teenager, until just a year ago, when my last band "Outtaline" broke up. I am currently trying to put a new Classic rock band together, we have Drums, Me on Bass and Vocals, and a Rhythm Guitar player, just looking for that right lead player.
I also write and record my own origionals playing all instruments, and singing myself. I started doing this around 1984 with a friend and his 4 track reel to reel, later his 8 track reel to reel, then around 1990 or so, I bought my first cassette multitracker, a little Fostex X-18 which I still have, and still works. I then bought another Fostex, which wasnt any good, cant remember the model number, but it constantly started dragging the tape midway into the song, I finally got Fostex to refund my money. (After they tried to fix it about 5 times) Then I graduated to the Roland VS-840 which I later converted to an VS840 EX and I removed the zip drive, and installed a small Laptop Hard Drive. It still works great, but I just Bought a Zoom MRS1608 because it is like 1/3rd the price my old Roland was over 10 years ago, with so many features. Problem now, I'm really having a Hard time programming the drums on my new Zoom. I play by ear, and it's hard for me to insert just the "right" amount of measures, breaks etc, as I'm not a drummer.
I started out a a singer in the 70's, then I learned some rhythm guitar to make my then band sound fuller. Well a couple years later, we lost our Bass player due to him getting married and his new bride insisting he quit, and we couldnt find Bass Players, so I learned Bass. My first Musicial love is Singing and writing songs, Bass is the best instrument I play now, but I can play Rhythm and some lead guitar for my recordings. I also record Demos for my bands, and for friends bands. (The 8 XLR inputs, and 8 tracks recordable at once, on the Zoom is another thing that greatly attracted me to it).
Anyway, the Roland was hard to figure out, and the Zoom is ALOT different than it was, so I thought I best find me a Forum. The Roland VS Planet, a forum of Roland users, really helped me out to do the HD upgrade on my RolandVS840 I'm hoping I can find a Zoom forum with such cool people.
