Mic clip question

I recently bought an MXL 2003 condenser mic, and today I discovered that the shockmount doesn't screw into any of my mic boom stands. Do I need a special adaptor for it?

is the adapter already in it? :) My shotgun mic "clip" (aka mess o' brubber bands) had the british adapter already in place so I had to dig out a large screw driver to remove it.

i had the same problem with the first mic i bought. the problem is it comes with a european adapter screw in it and you unscrew it out with a quarter or something similar and then vuala you have the right size.

Have a look at this. A cheap shock mount project. I use it for my MXL990, MXL991, SM58, and SM57. All work well in it.
