I just got my E MU 0404, and sounds very nice the quality is better than i expected really. But there is Latency.. its not like very late not even 1 second less than that but, its very hard for me to make beats or something with this sound card, because i Hit the key its a lil bit harder to work with it. Also how can i use it t record like at 96Khz or 196Khz because i can only record and listen to music at 44Khz...

can any one help me with that

But its very cool and the Patchmixer thing easier than i thought :P

If you are getting latency as it is now, going up to 192 khz will only make matters worse.

Are you recording at 44.1/16 bit right now? What app are you using, what driver type is that app assigned to use for the card, have you went to EMU and downloaded the most current driver? Are you recording in stereo or mono...if stereo try mono and see if that helps.

well i am recording at 44.1 16 bit. and i am using Adobe Audition 1.5, i also have cubase but am not as comfortable with it .. the driver its asigned to the EMU 0404 but it dos not say its the EMU 0404 it says something else but its the only one there since i installed the 0404.. i see that when i speak in the mic in the patchmaker the levels of dB move.. soo its in the right driver i connected one cable in the Right input from my preamp for the mic. and turned that 1 channel into Stereo.
and no i have not updated the driver i would of done it now but i am not at home

PS: i realy dont care if it has latency while im recording vocals, as long as it does not have latency while im making my beats becaus it is very hard to put them on time like that:(

Definitely update the driver, also check to see what your ASIO buffer size is... if it's too large, you'll introduce latency that way. Too small, and you'll introduce clips and snaps into your recording. It may be too large.

There's a difference between the "driver" for the 0404 and the "driver" for Audition. In Audition itself (and I can't remember the menu items you'll need...), you need to set Audition to use your 0404 either with Windows MM driver (awful) or Windows WDM (OK) or the "E-MU WDM" (the best choice - if it's available). If I'm not mistaken, Audition "defaults" to using MM due to backwards "compatibility".

Your 0404 won't do 192, but it will do 96. What you have to do is load a PatchMix session for that. However, you'll need to use Cubase in order to use it, using the "E-MU ASIO" driver in Cubase. Since Windows does not do 96k audio "natively", and Audition uses Window's audio drivers, it doesn't do 96k... Windows will playback 44.1 or 48k without a hickup, but has no idea what to do with 96k audio.
