Go get the updated drivers from their website.
VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

The patchmix program has a number of pre-sets for recording - which one are you using? Make sure your connections in Cubase are all connected (in the software under VST Connections). When you start a new session in patchmix, it will assign the patchmix pre-set configuration to your physical connections - so it will sense what connections you have, and assign internal routing based on that. You may need to make sure that these assigned connections are not 'pending' and are connected in the Cubase VST connections.

Also, make sure that you have disabled your internal soundcard. Your PC might be overriding your new soundcard with the internal thing.

Just ideas.

Also, you might find - once you have it all up and running - that the overall output for the patchmix program is a little hot. Back the faders off a bit.

Your Windows sounds are enabled and bleeding in... you could either delete the "Wave" strip in PatchMix or disable the Windows sounds in Control Panel. Also, if you had a Sound Blaster or compatible in the computer previously, there is probably a choice in the Windows mixer for "What you hear" or something to that effect. You'll want to select the "Line In". While in the mixer, be sure all the levels are "up" on full. If you're using Cubase to record in, in the ASIO Inputs panel, be sure the inputs you're recording from are "active", and then select those particular inputs for each individual track you're recording. When you use "All" like you have above, you'll get "anything" sent to "everwhere" and just confuse the fire out of yourself...

HAHA sorry i am only 16 though, but i get used to it from msn, what i said was 'i just thought of somthing, on patchmix, do you have to change the settings everytimen you want to record and listen to music' if not i am really stuck, most of the stuff i have confingured myself but this is difficult...what would be a basic set up for recording on a 44/48k set up?

I know what it said, I just get tired of reading it, thats all...

bit rate setting should be very plain in their drivers, while I don't know anything about the EMU, generally I set up bitrate and samplerates in the app I am recording with, so once the app is closed, it plays back at the default settings...

On the Patchmix, find the setting you like, and that works with your connections, and simply "Save As" and call it "This One" or something....whatever you like. It should stick to the open session in Cubase. If you open a new project, you simply assign the saved setting to the new project - and it will stick to that project. It's actually less complicated than it first appears. It's quite a powerful program, but I only use a 10th of its capabilities. Much like my brain...
