Anyone played much with Google Earth

I was bored today and decided to check out that Google Earth thing earth.google.com/ and it's pretty damn cool. Within 5 minutes I had zoomed in on my house, my martial arts gym (or where it should be), my dad and moms house, Noize2u's house (damnedest thing the Google Lazer wouldn't arm :-)

it's pretty cool, it's amazing how fast you can find your way around if you somewhat know the area you are looking at.

Everybody should check it out, kinda fun...obviously not current tho, as my martial arts gym wasn't even built when the last pic was taken, and hell, there isn't even snow on the ground.

Yup I've played around with several times. It's pretty cool to see close you can zoom in on stuff.

Oh yeah, Google Earth is pretty cool . I was just checkin' out our road trip destinations... hehe... Huegle Earth .

In particular: Marco Island, FL . A friend from work heard we were going to be in the Tampa area that week, and he knew a charter fishing captain that operates out of Marco, he's going to fly down and meet up with us to catch some groupies... er, I mean groupers . : )

Hey fortymile ! Where are you in Florida ?

BEER man, BEER !... or do I remember correctly that you do the vino ?

I guess there's different levels of GE that you can subscribe to... kind'a scary thinkin' anyone can 'look down on you' in almost real time for a price... not cheap, though .

Oh, and grouper is out of season .

WOW, I just zoomed in to New York City...saw Liberty Island, Ellis Island then flipped over the the Twin Towers site...very sad. I have never been to New York so I didn't really know exactly where I was going but just used common sense...and boy, those tow building were RIGHT downtown, what a nightmare that must have been, not only those buildings but all the buildings surrounding them how busy the streets can be...WOW...crazy.

"The Battery", from this view, looks like some sort of park...with that kind of name I sort of expected to see slums and hookers and stuff...the name just sounds like a bad 'hood.
