IF I WERE TO GET A MIXER COULD I CONVERT MULTIPLE MICROPHONE TRACKS INTO ONE TRACK?

ALSO IS THERE ANY WAY TO DO THAT WITHOUT A MIXER?

yes to the first statement, tho you won't be able to adjust the instruments after the recording, and no not that I know of for the second question.
actually , your first question might be a good way of recording drums like you asked in your other post. You could mike up (I'd suggest a minimum of 4 micorphones, with 2 overheads on either side of the kit above it and 3 times the distance to the kit apart from each other and kick and snare) and mix the drums to your likeing to a stereo mix on the mixer and put those as the inputs to your 2 input interface.

... will leave it to the others to clarify coz I think I'm confusing myself ;-)

To your second question, yes you can easily do that assuming you have multiple inputs on whatever your recording interface is. You simply map all the inputs to the same track. This is of course assuming your recording interface/software combination supports this, but it's basic functionality, and I would suspect that anthing worth it's salt will indeed support it.

Failing that, you could always bounce the tracks down together after recording.

But if you don't have a multiple input interface then you will have to have a mixer.
