Is there anyone running a 64-bit capable processor already? I read sonar producer edition 5 has full 64 bit capabilities. I wonder how much better it is to work on a fullly 64-bit ->processor, OS, software.

Jan 03, 2006 08:48 am Not me, I run too much software that won't fly on 64-bit yet...or isn't "officially supported" anyway.
One thing I have learned over the years, that works for me, my patience level and my budget, is that I NEVER jump on the newest technology until it's outdone by the next generation...so by the time the next set of 64-bits come out, I might try it. That gives apps time to support it, and the platform itself time to stabilize.
Technology companies seem so quick to push out new products that the first version or two always wind up being too buggy or unstable, I grew tired of being the unwilling beta tester.

Not quite as fast but it beats the dickens out of running the straight 32 bit audio engine. I have been running it on most projects now and it is a noticable differance. You do need a pretty fast machine though to take advantage of it, with plenty of ram.
