Hi,

I have never had any problems before but now when I try to record a multi track using line in audio recording, the 1st track goes in fine but when I select playback whilst recording it also plays the playback track on the new track I am now recording on! (If I unselect it then I cant hear what Ive done to keep it in sinc)Ive been sat at it for ages and I cant faddom it. All I want is the other tracks to play and the new track to record in on its own instead of all the tracks playing also recording on the new track. (Hope that makes sense!) Any help would be great, im starting to stress now!!!

Cheers

Daz

Try looking in the options menu . Maybe they'll have something like 'global' or 'recording options' that will allow you to set the way it records . It will give you a few options usually . If it's not in there, then it's somewhere else, but that setting is what you're looking for . Sorry I can't be more precise... they may mention it in the manual .

Well you have no gear profile entered, but I will guess you are recording with a SoundBlaster type sound card. Some other audio interfaces are guilty of this as well. Look at your windows sound settings for the audio interface and make sure under the recording tab you dontn have what you hear checked. This will transfer teh playback audio right into the line in without ever leaving the PC.

Otherwise if youare going through a mixer and running your line outs to a mixer and the main outs from the mixer into the PC line in's your will get the same effect.

Ya, windows will do that by default on some audio interface's. Its usually the first thing to check when that happens.
