They won, last minute field goal, it rocked. That whole game was all defense on both sides, both offenses sucked ***.

Well, after watching the Vikings' defense and special teams whup up on the Giants' offense, I decided to humor myself and watch my Packers play the Falcons.

Holy Crap...now I remember why I am a Packer fan. That was fun to watch for a change. It is a lot easier to watch when you don't really have any expectations...just sit back and let them do their thing.

And I saw something that I haven't seen since Robert Smith of the Vikings: A running back (Samton Gado of the Packers) actually handed the ball to the ref twice ofter scoring touchdowns, and then he jogged off the field and thanked his O-line for blocking. Take that T.O. Refreshing.

anyone see the steelers/browns game?

batch broke his hand during a ballsy play which i think he called himself. to me that was a hero-maker play. deciding to just jump for the TD himself with seconds remaining, probably against the wishes of the offesnsive coordinators.

damn it, thats scary. that means maddox is likely to start next week.

too bad: batch did fine. randle el threw an amazing long bomb to ward. and ward set a record tonight.

ah what a fun game.

Man, what a day for the NFC North...jeezuz.

Yeah, jim, I watched a lot of the Packer game as well, pretty good...I am really getting tired of the announcers spending all their time kissing Bret Favre's butt tho. Yes, he's great, one of the best ever, we know, let it go now...

I can totally understand that...I would get sick of it too if I wasn't such a Favre fan. The trouble is, there ain't a whole lot else to talk about with the Packers, because nobody's ever heard of most of the guys...including Packer fans.

Actually, I am a Farve fan, I feel really bad for him this year and respect him greatly as a football player and a person. That scene lesterday after he took a hit, got up, smiled and flexed his muscle at somebody total cracks me up and shows that he truly loves what he does.

That said, last time the pack/vikes met how many times can you hear "you can't defend a perfect pass" before you just start yelling "think up something new to say", yesterday was the same thing, different phrases tho. It just gets really old and boring.

Congratulations to you and your Vikings dB.

I'm obviously not too happy with my Jints right now but you guys beat the hell out of us on special teams, good game.

xtc,

Marty Schottenheimer told Archie to warn Eli not to come to San Diego. I realize San Diego fans might take it the wrong way and I guess I don't blame them but if any of us were in his shoes, we'd probably have done the same thing.

Let me clarify that, it has been reported that someone within the Chargers organization tols Archie to keep Eli away. The anecdotal evidence and the fact the Archie and Marty are friends points to Marty being the one.

I dunno anything of what you say there, but, I will say Eli had a horrendous game, hell, both offenses sucked, but some serious defense and special teams play made it exciting.

Offense wins games, defense wins championships...or so somebody said once...I think they were right.

shepherdsam,

eli thought he was going to be like his brother and felt like he should be playing, hence the trade but obviously he doenst have the skills to even come close. im sure people are kicking themselves because Phillip rivers is a better QB and going to waste.

xtc,

Eli has played horribly in his last 4 games but only time will tell. We don't need Eli to be Peyton, he's going to be just fine.

You aren't even close on the trade, I was not speculating in my earlier post. It was been reported by Fox, CBS, ESPN and it was mentioned 3 or 4 times during the Monday night game against San Diego that "Someone" high in the Chargers organization had warned the Mannings that the organization was in trouble and not the place he'd want to be.
There are a few reasons Schottenheimer might be the one, he is freinds with Archie and has the same agent as Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin.

well for whatever the reason the trade happened, his ego or his daddies buddies, phillip rivers is a better QB. ;)

Yes they did!!!

I believe I have broken my curse upon them. I couldnt stand to not watch as I was tied for the pool at work with someone who happened to choose the Packers, and I choose the Vikes. So I turned the game on for the last 12 minutes of the 4th and low and behold they pull off another squeek and I win. Maybe now I can watch the games and not feel like a jynx.
