Can any Cubase experts answer this one? Sample rate conversion.

I am thinking of purchasing a Focusrite Octopre to compliment my Tascam FW1884 and since it will only operate at 44.1 and 48 KHz over the ADAT connection (not using S-MUX), I would like to convert all my projects that were recorded at 96KHz to 44.1KHz. I really don't want to bounce everything and re-import it so is there another way that anybody knows about? I am using Cubase SX 3.1. Thanks.

bbbitter, I am not sure on that one. I have not been running Cubase for several years now and dont recall it having anything that would help you avoid an export/import to change the files.

I do know that untill Sonar 5 PE even they didnt have an option liek that. It now however will work with multiple sample rates in one project. Meaning I can import a sample at a low sample rate and it will automatically be converted inside Sonar. So you can have sevearl differant sample rates of audio in the project and not worry about having to dither anything to fit in.

Not an expert here, by any stretch, & I'm doin' this from memory, but it seems to me that on the "import" box that there is an option there for like "copy file to folder", etc., and if I'm not mistaken, it "converts", but I wouldn't swear to it... I don't think I'd go down to 44.1, tho, unless you're not going to do any more processing.

ok...in the inspecter colomn thats the one most left of yuh project (thats the part when u select a track it shows u the info and u know like parameters for the track there).....anyway right click in that colomn in a clear space of it...or right on the bottom where u see the sample rate and thing right click there and then go on project and then go on project setup...and from there i guess u could figure the rest.....bless
