REASON & PXR4

I've just started using Reason and wish to record guitar & vocal tracks.

Is there anyway of connecting my Korg PXR4 to my PC in order for me to record live takes onto Reason?

If not, does anyone have any ideas on how to do this!

Thanks for your time folks!

Welcome to HRC. Looks like the PXR4 only has a mini stereo jack out on it, so MIDI isn't an option:

If you only have onboard sound (on your PC) and weren't too concerned with top-quality, you could probably just run that mini stereo jack into your Line in on your computer (maybe).

If you want quality, get an external sound card. And take a read of these articles: www.homerecordingconnecti...tory&id=585 and www.homerecordingconnecti...tory&id=508 and www.homerecordingconnecti...tory&id=325 Which will give you the basics of PC-based recording.

Good luck!

I could be way off here but I don't think you can record into Reason. At least not an analog signal. I think it only works with MIDI. I'm not 100% sure though.

Beerhunter, I think you're right. It doesn't say anything about audio. service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear

You might be out of luck greenbean. You may have to pick up a cheapo sequencer/multitrack recording software to combine your reason loops and do analog recording as well.

Soundmind, you're a reason user aren't you?

yeah, you cannot record analog into reason. You can import samples, but no recording (except midi).

As well I believe Reason 3 will allow importing of any length audio file now. Not sure on that one, but I think that is what I read somewhere.
