I'm not sure exactly what an Alesis brc is, but as far as midi-synching goes, I believe it's simply a case of linking the two with your midi cables, designating the transfer rate and telling one to be the slave, and one to be the master . Oh, and some devices you have to make sure the thing is in "GM mode", so...

I'm sure someone will elaborate on this or fill in the blanks... it's been a while since I linked our DR770 to anything .

Welcome aboard !

thx guys, the main problem i'm having is that the brc (big remote control)doesnt allow to select a midi channel #, only a midi "device id", which i dont think are the same thing. thx anyway,i'll keep looking. arley

arley, your DR-770 should have a device ID listed in the owners manual. All the DR-770 will have the same device ID. As for the BRC, it should be able to transmit midi clock that will be considered OMNI meaning it is on all channels. so if it does indeed transmit midi clock/sync then you shouldnt have any problems. And make sure your DR-770 is set to recieve on channel 10 which is the standard for general midi drums.

arley, the other thing is to make sure if the DR-770 has the option to turn recieve midi sync/clock on or off that it is indeed on.
