hey everyone, i am just sat in my college library very bored waiting to do my AS music tech listening paper in.... 2 and a half hours. wish me luck!
i've already submitted my coursework and done a structured commentary exam, and i'm feeling fairly confident about this paper - i don't know how to revise for it though....

i remember really liking recording class at music school (alotta guys rather just play)....
aced that stuff, just cuz i was into it.
mind if i ask some of the more interesting questions (question typs/summary)? i'm quite curious to what's on there, having opted out of any further education after that.
sounds like you got the heart

May 27, 2005 12:38 pm well the paper is made up of 10 questions
1-8 are small (sometimes multiple choice) questions
9-10 are essay questions where you analyse a song (you just choose one)
there was one question i went to town on where you got shown 4 photos of mic'd up cabinets, and you had to describe what the setup was, what kind of mics you might expect to use, and what sound it would achieve.
some of the questions you had to state what was where in the stereo field of the song. some you had to describe what effects processing had been done on it. some you had to draw what the fader settings probably were on the final mixdown. yada yada. a lot of it can be a bit vague.
there were a few odd questions this year, like in september by frank sinatra, you had to say how the "musical elements of the verse reflected on the lyrics being based on Autumn". hmm.
thats pretty much it... it's a bit of an odd paper really! but hey, you get to listen to great music for 2 hours :)
