do y'all know and cars that are known for their quietness (on the inside), my mom drives a Cadie ETS and this thing is super quiet on the inside. are there any mid-range or even cheaper cars that put alotta consideration into internal quietness? i want one.

Ooh, I remember seeing a couple of commercials that pimped the quiet cabin...wtf were they...

I think one was by Lexus and one was a pickup truck by Toyota I think...but I'm not at all certain.

bah... I hate quiet cars.

lincoln has been experimenting for quite a few years now with a noise cancling system which consided of 16 speakers placed throughout the car. There are also headphones which currently use the same technology.

silence is golden, and i wanna hear what's commin' outta my speakers, not the big, bad, scarey, loud motor that's bark is bigger than it's bite.

Are you looking for a new car? The reason I ask is because I used to own an '89 Thunderbird LX and that thing was a very smooth and quiet car even after 100k miles. The only reason I got rid of it was because I wanted something smaller.

i've been without a car for a year and a half now, and have totally missed the gas price 'spike'! public transportation isn't that bad out here and i walk to BOTH of my jobs (i got a new one this week to save $$ to get back to FL) and even in florida no car was not a big deal for me....i understand it's mostly a necessity for ppl, but i'm not missing havin' one yet....no car payment, no insurance pament, and gas money? what's that? hehe y'all know i'm the hippy type, and i think there's no greener way to be than carless....but there are definately times that i've said to myself "if only i had a car".....maybe someday later in life. but between busses, taxies, and friends it's just not a necessity for me these days.

I like my Pontiac Vibe. Not the quietest, but good gas milage and built to hold our camping crap in the back. It is a bit cramped compared to my Montana but hey, much better on the gas, and kinda sporty lookin as well.
