Hi Guys-

I'm looking for some free midi drums (specifically reggae/ska/dub rythyms). I'll be using them in Cubase with my own drum samples. Any one know any good sites? Thanks! -Al

ns_kit7free is a free soundfont. It's 70meg, and has some decent stuff in it.

Thanks. But let me rephrase that. I am looking for MIDI samples. Something I can load into Cubase, select a VST (like NS_Kit 7) and play the midi file. I am terrible when it comes to percussion, especially trying to lay down a reggae groove. I just need some simple stuff for somg writing. Thanks! -Al

oh, you mean the actual .MID file? that, i don't know. i stumble along creating them myself.

but if you're interested, i found this:

www.mikestrickland.net/reggae/

he's got some midi files up there of BM's stuff. You could chop out some of the un-needed stuff and just keep the percussion.

www.synthzone.com/drums.htm

www.looperman.com/links/i...SID=&PID=15

i know cakewalk has 'midi groove clips', and i'm pretty sure Cubase will have something similar, just donno what it's called....

i just googled "midi drum loops" and found those, i didn't really check them out too well, but i've been to the synthzone a few times.

www.midicommunity.com has tons of free midi files.
www.synthzone.com is good also but some you have to pay for.
www.smartloops.com used to have some good free ones that i got a while ago, but they seem to charge for everything now :(
