midi recorder/sequencer-HELP

Can someone PLEASE help me find what I'm looking for?! I own an alesis MMT-8 that stopped working. In trying to find a replacement, I've been told to buy a drum machine, or any one of 100 multi-track recorders that don't do what the MMT-8 did. I've asked Guitar Center, Musicians Friend, Alesis and seemingly every "professional" source out there to no avail. I need a midi recorder/sequencer that, when hooked up to my SO8 synth via midi, will record and play back any sound/voice/instrument that the synth will put out. THEN I need to be able to move each beat/note (to perfect timing) and adjust the volume, duration, etc. of each beat/note. Alesis told me to but the SR16- it only records what it puts out--DRUMS. PLEASE HELP! Thanks

Mar 10, 2005 08:25 pm Sorry, I forgot to mention application. I'm in my home studio- no computer. I've got the Fostex VF160, the Yamaha SO8 synth and my guitars.(and now, the SR16 drum machine.) With the midi recorder, I'd play piano tracks-real sloppy- hence, the need for the editing.
