Touch sensitive = velocity sensitive?

well i am looking for something to play with into my cubase sx 2......well i can't really find any midi controllers down here........well i saw this casio keyboard and it had midi in/out and its touch sensitive does it means tha its velocity sensitive and will also be so when i hook it up(to my pc)?

Mar 09, 2005 10:30 am I'm not positive, but I think touch sensitive does equal velocity sensitive. And I'm pretty sure that the velocity is part of the midi data transferred so that it will send that info to the pc when you hook it up.
But like I said, I'm not 100% sure about this, so hopefully, someone can answer with more certainty.

Mar 09, 2005 10:52 am midi controllers with velocity sensivity are definitely able to transfer that data to a pc... at least the ones i use at home and at college can do it...?
Mar 09, 2005 11:21 am i donno how nice a casio it is, but if it only has say 4 levels of "touch sensitiveness" it's not gonna be a good controler.....i'd keep your eyes open for any synth with knobs and a pitch bender, if you're gonna use it as a main controller.
