Can someone just direct me how I would go about composing flash animations....

I see em all the time obviously but don't know which program I can use to fade in jpegs and things of that nature...

I hope no one I work with sees this, but if I can figure this out I can make some major extra ching doing my companies website...

There is a way to make a website look good without these things, but people here are pissing and moaning about having this capability

www.flashkit.com is a good resource.

You can not learn Flash in the context of a forum...get a book and read it, get a demo of Flash and use the tutorials. There are also other apps, such as CoffeeCup FireStaer and Swish that make building simple Flash components easier.

Some effects commonly mistaken as Flash are often Javascripts and nothing more.

Flashing text, txt effects and fading images are common.... you may wanna check that too..the poor mans flash I used many times.

Macromedias prices are FAR too high for me!!

Well...For future FYI...My intelligence carries me farther than having expectations of a forum to solve all my problems...I know my initial post was slopped together and poorly thought out...this is what happens when someone is leaving work...

In this case I did download demos of Flash Mx, Dreamweaver MX, and ColdFusion about a week ago, ...so I was checking to see if my software demo inquiries were on...If so...off to Barnes and Noble I go.

These prices are far too high for me also, especially for programs I don't know about...

Thank you boys...I will look into these other programs...from there....who the f*** knows...

OpenOffice Presentations and drawings can be exported as Flash... never done it...but... yeah... and it's free :)

Well I was just messin around with swish...and all I gotta say is MONEY....

I think this is all I need...all they were looking for is subtle little things...
