hello all,

Im fairly new to computer recording, I was using adobe audition with soundblaster extigy card, I decided i needed a real audio card, so I got a M-audio Delta 1010lt, I just hooked it up. I can not figure out how to monitor what im playing, im using the 1/2 rca outs to a stereo and im plugging my guitar into the #3 rca in. Theres just no sound when im playing. in audition i have the devices all set properly. I can record fine, then hit play and it plays back fine.

any help is appreciated..

thanks

aaron

Yeah! Do the same on all tracks, playback/record.

You can do it one by one or there's a box you can check, it says something like, "same for all tracks"

if you mean 'outs' as in 'playback' thru Audition...go to Options, then Device Order

Then select the Delta as your primary playback device...You might want to click the USE IN EV button to use the Delta in the editing view...

ok ive done this in audition. im using in 3/4 so i set that as recording device, and im using spdif out so i set that as playback device. but i cant monitor what im play unless i go to the delta patchbay and route the spdif to chan 3/4 but when i do that then i cant hear prerecorded stuff.

this is frustrating.

i figured if i just said use all for both recording and playback it would work, but it doesnt.

I have the same problem! Just got the Delta 44, sounds great, records great, but I can't hear what I'm playing as well as the rest of the track all at the same time.
I'm using Cubase SX, and it's being frustrating, cause if I want to record a guitar over a given track, in order to listen to the track, I can't listen to myself playing, so, that serves me nothing.
Help pleeeease!

you have to set the 1/2out to monitor mix in the delta patchbay. :)

The one thing you guys might be overlooking is to set the output of the tracks you have recorded to use the delta outputs. In Cubasem, Sonar, Audition or whatever. I know this is a common mistake as most peeps dont think to check this.
