Dec 02, 2004 07:03 am Do mean like ripping the tracks from the CD to MP3 format on your hard drive? I probably sound dumb asking that but trying to get what you want to do. If that is what you are trying to do, iTunes is a good free software that is really easy to do that with.

Dec 02, 2004 08:03 am put a cd in your cd drive.......start a new session in cep2....then open up the edit view window..not the multitrack window...go to file...extract audio from cd...another window will pop up with the tracks from the cd in the center window...hightlite the tracks you want then press ok...it will ask you if you want it in a single wave form..thats strictly your choice..it wont matter if you do or not...wait for the little message that comes up..."extracting audio blah blah blah"..you know cep...has alot of those messages..then your file will come up in stereo form on the edit view window...then you can do a save as or insert into multitrack..or whatever you want...have a good day and welcome to HRC...Tom P

Nothing appears in the center tracks window and no action happens..
Other functions of CEP2 work.. no problems with them

Dec 02, 2004 09:59 am If all else fials, get any of dozens of free CD rippers, rip it to wav and import it.
Though you shouldn't have to...

Dec 02, 2004 01:39 pm you are in the edit waveform view and not the multitrack view?
Is it processing the tracks when you click extract?
They should appear in the file menu down the side, where the effects are.
Try right clicking the Cd and with the ctrl button held down, click open with CEP2
Maybe Try reinstalling it.

Dec 02, 2004 01:43 pm when your extract audio window pops up...did u manually change the drive so reads the proper drive? sometimes cep2 gets a bug and wont detect it on its own...if that isnt working either..i would just reinstall the program...cep2 encounters alot of problems with xp..if that is the os u are using, but even if it isnt id still just do a reinstall...u wont lose any info as they should stay in your temp files and folders...hope this helps....tom p

Dec 02, 2004 04:43 pm I never extract audio from cd, I always just open whatever track I want, and it extracts it for me. You can do this in either wav editor or multitrack view. Then you can save as mp3 or wav or whatever format you want. Just open like it was a regular file.
