About this time 3 years ago is when I got my mixer...and back then I just got it cuz I got sick of switching lines in and out of my 1/8" "mic in" on my PC factory sound card. I had 2 devices, a Korg ER-1 and a Yamaha PSR-282, and that wasn't even mine. The rest was my pc, pc speakers and software...
Sounds a little like grandpa who used to walk uphill in the snow barefoot...but I'm just lettin you and anyone else who's JUST starting out no average joe workin 40 hr weeks and paying bills acquires alot of gear in a short period of time...cuz it does cost a pretty penny...but two years from now you'll be looking back like "thats all I had?"....DAMN!
And I like what you said about the EQ...only get stuff if your gonna utilize it, not because it looks cool in your setup or someone on TV uses it. The only time I recommend doing that is if you see yourself using it down the road and there's a god deal on it now...
