I have bought an audiophile 2496 soundcard and have tried to install it on my xp desktop pc. The drivers are installed but it says there is a problem (code 10) and the "soundcard will not start". there are yellow ! beside the soundcard in the multimedia, sound and video devices part of the device manager list and also under Other Devices: multimedia audio controller where the problem says "This device is not configured correctly"(code 1)
Have I done something wrong here?
Any idea what the problem could be?

Also, make sure the card is properly seated in the slot of the Mobo by pulling it out and reseating it. And check for the audiophile sharing an IRQ with any other device, which likely shouldn't matter, but it's worth looking.

Sep 07, 2004 04:34 pm This may sound weird, but try moving it into a different ide port . Worked for me after having problems . Not sure where my problems came from, whether it was from XP, or program conflict, or maybe the MB, BUT I ended-up going through everything to fix it, and after replacing the HD, RAM, going back to 2000nt, and moving the 24/96 to a different IDE, everything works ok now . I know, weird .
