Finally got my new computer running correctly after six weeks of messing about only to find that I needed Windows XP home (OEM) to sort out all the problems with ASUS PT4 533 motherboard. Re-installed my audiophile 2496 only to find that the manual only covers Windows 95, 98 and NT - there is a drivers upgrade on the midiman site for XP but no instructions of how to install the audiophile when using XP - is there anyone out there who can help because the technical services are only open between 9 and 5 MOnday to Friday??
It'll be great when I can actually use this computer for making music - please help ASAP?

Oct 10, 2002 04:52 pm Hello Vikki,
After having your drivers downloaded, make sure you uninstall any previous version with the uninstaller that you can download at the midiman site. Doubleclick the new drivers (Delta_wdm_510027.EXE) and follow the instructions. Then restart your machine and windows configures the card.
Please let me know if this work

Because if you don't uninstall them right, it will muck up the new driver install terribly. I know, I had the same problem.

Oct 11, 2002 01:13 pm Thanks guys but....When I download the drivers it wants me to save to the floppy drive surely I should be saving it to the hard drive but which folder do I save it in - programs, temporary, system??
Sorry if I sound frustrated but I seem to be going round in circles and getting nowhere!! I have downloaded the drivers twice now and the system doesn't configure the sound card so I must be saving it in the wrong place.
Thanks
Vikki
Oct 11, 2002 01:53 pm You should have an option to download them to where ever the heck you want to...just browse to a new location and save them on your hard drive.
Oct 11, 2002 03:24 pm yeah he's right, it's an exe, so you just save it to anywhere, hardisk, floppy, whatever, then go back and find it and launch the EXE from whereever it saved to
