Jun 02, 2004 08:35 pm Whats this tune about? I think it's either about a child star who's having trouble dealing with stardom as he gets older - or - it's about a guy who married this really nice woman and everything's changin now and the walls are closing in. Or maybe its about something else. It's not about fishin.
musically and technically you are definately growning. I have trouble with the bass in one ear only. But thats just me. excellent acoustic guitar sound. otherwise it reminds me of something but I can't quite remember what it was.

Jun 03, 2004 07:00 am Thanks Bruno- i can deal with "Weird" I just do what comes. I don't fight it- and im ok with not ever being confused with "pop". hahaahah
As for what the tune is about- just a teenager laying in his bedroom, having a beer, looking up at one of those bikini posters......full of that teenage confusion....

Jun 03, 2004 09:07 am Sounds like you're pushing the boundaries of the "TonyD style"! Cool man, I like it. Hard to comment on the sound... coming through a single pc speaker here, y'know... Everything sounds clear, though I'd maybe add a little more compression on the first vocal notes.

Jun 03, 2004 09:36 am Dont you mean "first vocal primal scream"? Thanks tincan, i do enjoy not having any musical rules. If Brittny Spears said " i wrote this odd tune and i want it on my next album- the studio would say- no way! its too diffrent! Here at HRC its just par for course to do what you want. quite refreshing

Jun 03, 2004 10:25 am tony, you've just summed up what I love about home recording. For those of us who say, "I'm doing this for ME", there really, truly aren't any rules at all. Of course... this also means that without a pop-standard blueprint for song structure, that we've probably got more false starts and stylistic dead ends. But you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs, right? This song sounds like a step beyond the comfort zone, for both the listener and the composer. That's where things get really interesting... :)
