I just found this old recording of us doing a summertime gig at some festival in some hell-hole, in Michigan, and my amp is literally dying in the 95+ degree heat .
I remember doing the show, and not being pleased with how anything went, but now after listening to the way my 120w Crate flopped in and out of channles, and then proceeded to give the strangest feedback, I can't help but laugh my *** off at the whole thing ! It sounds so sad... like it's begging for it's life . Truly unique . hahahahaha
The amp did NOT survive, and was "laid to rest" the following weekend .
I got'ta get this up here for you guys . It's hillarious !... wasn't at the time, though .
Incidently, they had advertised this gig on the radio for a week-straight, but scheduled it on the same day as Detroit's "Woodward Cruize" (million+ people gathering), so we were playing to mostly people we knew... thank gods ! ;-0
I'll try to have it up tommorrow .

Apr 29, 2004 01:52 am Played a gig one nite and somebody, me I think, put a bottle of beer on the leslie that was behind my 100 watt MusicMan amp. The bottle fell off landed right side up and spewed beer into the back of my amp. After a couple of snap, crackles and pops we took a break. Someone had a blow drier and I spent the break drying the inside of my amp. Turned it on for the final set and the thing came back and has worked ever since. It smells funny tho.

I had purchased the amp from a "friend", and he had to send it back once to Crate for some channle issues, and that seemed to take months, and the shipping etc... Nope, it was dead as far as I was concerned ! Pulled out my Celestions(again), and pushed on .
BTW, thewent just gave me an mp3 of the audio, of the video tape... have to send it back to him for chopping... don't want to bore you with an entire song of poor recording . (I can't wait for this second system !)
