I am thinking about getting a Behringer UB Series mixer, and i was wondering which one in this series you all liked the best and think is the best one. they all have different features and some have things the others dont, (for example the new ub1222fx-pro), so i was just looking for some feedback on these mixers.

The UB series has all the same core componenet, some have FX some don't. The bigger ones have sub outs and stuff like that. I love my 1622FX-Pro, it has a pair of sub out and the effects, some of which are actually kinda cool.

Here is a decent overview of them I wrote after they were released... www.homerecordingconnecti...tory&id=257

Hey, whats the deal with stereo channels? all the lower priced mixers seem to have way more stereo channels than mono. The stereo channels dont have XLR inputs, which made them seem fairly useless to me, i need a mixer that i could put drums through, and anything within price range seems to have only 4 XLR and the rest stereo RCA inputs. Do any of you use XLR to RCA cables into any of these UB series mixers? (the ones with 16 channels or less) when recording a drumset?

I have been working for a long time with next to garbage for a mixer, and was inspired by the price of the UB's to have a listen . I originally went for the UB1602FXpro, but after using it for a few days, I had to have MORE . So, I returned it for UB2442FXpro, and now I have mixing options to grow with !
The major difference I see in this series, is that the UB1832FXpro, has a graphic eq on the mains, and that 'surround' effect . These seem like pretty cool features, although I don't know how much noize they add .
With the 24, I can run my 4 Subs as a monitor-nix, use the 4 Aux's for external gear, and with the 8 Direct-outs I run to another mixer for a live recording mix .
Wichever one you decide to go with, you really can't lose . They are probably the quietest mixers out there in that price range . Those 'Invisible Mic Pres ', are awesome !

The stereo inputs don't have microphone preamps on them, so many times they are sort of useless unless you've got the equipment to make use of them. Things with stereo outputs like keyboards, tape decks, the output of your soundcard, etc. are what they're intended for.

The 2442FX-Pro has 8 mono channels with the newer IMP preamp. service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear the effects are decent on it too, same effects as on my 1622FX-Pro. They are nice mixers.

Failing that you'll have to look at the big boys, like the MX9000 or something like that...exponentially more expensive.

If you can, please buy it through our "Ear Bag" links to help support HRC. If you can get it cheaper elsewhere, or can't order thru MF, well, do what ever works best for you ;-)

well guys, i got another question now... my band and i were thinking about getting a PA system. but with this mixer, would we need a pa system or just some speakers. do the behringer mixers serve as power amps or power mixers that with speakers will be able to be used as a PA? im not sure and would like to know if i need a whole pa system or just speakers if i get the behringer mixer(1832 prob)...please fill me in on this subject. thanks

You'd need to either get a powered mixer, power amp, or powered speakers to use it as a PA.

if you hook up speakers or monitors to the mixer, would you still get good/loud enough sound. if not, would it be better to get a powered mixer to use as a mixer and for a pa system?
