I just recorded this Smithereens cover with a friend of mine. He did all the Guitars and Vocals. I did the Drums and a low vocal in the chorus. I still need to mix and master it and I am re-recording the drums now but this is the first thing I've recorded since I got setup here in Utah so I had to post it. Let me know what you think www.homerecordingconnecti...usic&id=317

Drums were 1 Sm 58 type mic on the bass, 1 Oktava m-12 overhead and SM 57 on the Snare. I am actually a guitar Player so I am still learning the drums. Thanks for the review. I listened to your Comfortably numb. I didn't know what to thiunk of it at first. At first listen I didn't know if I liked it or not but then as I was walking around the studio I caught myself singing it your way. So i recorded my version of it after that except my version is more like the original style. I liked it. It wasn't the same old version that everyone does. I am also going to post this in your Thread

J had a listen, nice cover, very clean sound.

Yep, the drums pushed time a bit here and there, nice first shot though. I would maybe try and get the lead vocal to sit back in the mix just a bit, otherwise on key and all that, harmony part sounds cool. Maybe bring up bass guitar a bit with compression to give it some bite. I liked the lead at the end nice touch.

Thanks Noize,
There isn't a bass in the mix yet but I do plan on going back and doing a bass track. I need to work on the drums I know. I am actually a guitar player (well atleast better on guitar than drums)but I am starting to really have fun playing drums now.
