When I create .wav or .aiff files from Cubase VST 5.1 using the export audio feature it speeds up the tracks so I now sound like I'm one of the Chipmunks. I have always used this feature to create digital files and never had this happen before. My computer crashed recently and I had to re-install everything again. Does anyone know what could possibly be causing this?

Feb 13, 2004 02:24 pm It sounds like there is a mismatch in sample rates between recording and playback.
I tried to find a previous answer to this question because I was sure that it'd come up before, but my search didn't turn up anything. Sorry for such a vague answer, but maybe one of the local pros will happen by and provide some insight.
Feb 14, 2004 01:36 am i don't use cubase, but i know it's possible to resample to 44.1kHz or whatever your project is using. i use wavelab to change sample rates on the rare occasion that i need it.
but if this just started happening since a reinstall, i might just be some setting somewhere in cubase.

Feb 15, 2004 02:55 pm Just re-installed the SoundMAX audio driver and it seems to have fixed the problem. Not sure if there was a particular setting but I'm glad that headache is over with.
