Sweet Browser

Alright I've been playing around with browsers and have found one I think I'll stick to for a while. I was using Neoplanets but that got boring kind of so I switched to Mozilla, I then found their new app, Mozilla FireFox, and man is this sweet. It has tabed browsing (which means you can open multiple sites in one window on different tabs) and the ability to start multiple pages when it loads. So when I start FireFox it automaticly loads Yahoo, Hotmail, HRC, and Ebay in their own tabs, and all I have to do to change what site I'm looking at is press alt + tab. Great! And best of all it's free!

Well jues will be happy to hear of another Mozilla user. ;-)

Almost every browser except IE and NeoPlanet has had tabbed browsing for quite a while now. I still favor MyIE2 and NetCaptor myself. I do use Mozilla on occassion if I need to validate that something works in it like it's supposed to. I have not tried FireFox yet tho.

I'm like a kid with a new toy... FireFox is pretty sweet, it's got a bunch of cool extensions, like Deepest Sender which runs LiveJournal straight from Mozilla... so I don't have to log into livejournal when I wanna update, just start the program.

Yeah it was originally called Pheonix, then they changed it to Firebird, and then, with the most recent edition (0.7) the name was changed to FireFox due to copyright issues.

And yes, FireFox is pretty sweet, as is Thunderbird, their email client.

Not many of the third party spam filter application work with some of those lesser know email clients tho, which is really a bummer. Most work with Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora and the more common ones like those...however, some of the lesser known also have their own built in spam filter features as well. Never used Thunderbird, and probably never will, so I can't speak for that one in particular.

Thunderbird has it's own spam filter - and it's pretty damn good!

Yeah, Outlook 2003 has it's own too and has proven incredibly effective.

I waiting for SP2 for XP, IE is getting some major new features that many already have but I haven't found any of the other browsers work as reliably and well, so I stick with IE. :)

I'm not cutting on anyone cause I use IE too, but it's funny I've seen this sarcastic little campainge going around that goes something like "Support Internet Worms, Use Microsoft Internet Explorer"

SP2 will not contain multi-tabs for IE as I recall, the only things it will contain are things like pop-up blockers and such.

However, Jamie is right (or the campaign he speaks of) many worms can target IE and not other browsers simply because of how closely the browseris tied to the OS that other browsers are not.

As of late, what used to be the biggest strength of IE (being the close relationship with the OS itself) is now the cruz of it's biggest problems that go way beyond the worm issue or legal battles.

I don't use IE, and never will again, but I do use IE's rendering engine with one of the hundreds of IE-using front ends such as MyIE2 which essentially IS IE with multitabbed browsing and popup blockers. Netcaptor is the same way.

Guys, have you pressed CTRL+B yet? It brings up a nifty little side pannel where u can place all your bookmarks.

Oh and also, middle mouse button on a tab closes it :)
