Uploading mp3's to soundclick

hi,

I've uploaded a couple of tracks to soundclick. But, I notice that, especially with the last one (Nothing to Believe In) the sound quality is loads worse than the file on my harddrive.

On the uploaded version there is a weird electro/metallic buzzing sound and the vocals are really buried. This is when I play it from the site. I assume when I download the mp3 from the site it will be the same as the original.

Anyone able to explain this and are there any obvious solutions to this that I'm missing?

cheers

Are you playing back hi-fi or lo-fi?

I'm not sure what compression it goes through in order to stream it from the site.

i have to play it back as lo-fi (my connection is rubbish).

Is there anything you can do to ensure the qualityh doesn't get ruined by their compression?

Compression does what it does by knocking down the quality. That's like asking if you can drive your car twice as fast and not use more gas...it's just not the nature.
